Yesterday

From shoe babies, to suitcase accordions
From preaching church, to nursing wounded
We had the best time no matter.
Yesterday we were best friends
Carefree and happy children for the most part

Our special picnics under the willow tree,
Or jumping from the loft into the wagon filled with hay
We had fun on even the drabbest days.
We had each other, come what may!

Yesterday we were "The Three Musketeers"
Full of energy and spirit, not a care in the world

Mud pies and snowball fights
Swimming in the strip pit, swinging off the tire
We lived it up and loved  it.

Yesterday we became teenagers
Lovers and concerts

Crusin' "The bash", and endless parties
Broken hearts and new loves
We had it all

Yesterday we grew up
We fell in love and had children

Family cook outs, baseball games
Bruised knees and dirty faces
Broken hearts and hurt feelings

Today we live so far apart
Can we meet, have a picnic under the willow tree
Share our lives today

Tomorrow may be to late
So lets get together and catch up
Miss you much
