His
Only Rose
From the
very day they had met, many years ago,
He knew
deep within his heart, she was his only rose.
The love
they shared was far more than he ever dared hope.
Forever
he would spend his life, with his only rose.

A proud
man was he, with good reason to be,
Wanting
to give his Arkansas Rose, all that she never had
He worked
very hard and built their life
He had
it all, his family and children, mainly his wife.
With her
right beside him, his only rose.

They raised
their two children, proud of them he was...
Loved them
as dearly as any one man could
He done
well as a husband, a great father too
A man of
honor, doing good deeds just because
Sharing
the same love he felt in abundance from his only rose

Family
get together's was very important,
The love,
the laughter, the mere enjoyment.
This man
knew no foes, only friends
His truest
being her, his only rose.

Struggles
were plenty, that being no doubt,
But the
love that bounded them, kept them secure.
And holding
her hand tight, nothing was impossible to endure
He loved
her like yesterday, even stronger tomorrow
Held her
hand tight when she was in sorrow.
She was
his light, his breath, his only rose

His end
was near he felt it deep...
He needed
to tell her all she was to him, just what it meant.
He held
her hand and looked deep in her eyes...
I love
you forever, but Im going to die.
I have
given you strengths to help carry on,
So live
your life and bloom all you can,
His finale
wish for his best friend, his only rose

To her
it seemed like yesterday...
Her heart
still full of grief, and in dismay,
She cried
as she looked over over the water..
Returning
to where he had met his end.
They tossed
their roses, She and their friend,
The tide
carried hers out, but strange she thought,
The rose
of her friend kept coming back in
No strength
from the tide to push it about.

He whispered
to her heart on that day...
Even death
can not keep us apart,
I will
be with you forever, close in your heart
My only
rose
