Could It Be

For so long my heart has been broken
I looked at you, things said; were never spoken
You took my breath, It was something inside you
A vision which has failed to leave me

Common ground we no doubt share
If I reached out to you, would you be there?
Could it be?

I have tried to capture your attention
Dare I dream of things never mentioned?
You have brushed me off
Dare I hope,  was not  your intention?

Common ground we no doubt share
Reach out to me, Im right here
Could it be?

Different lives, we no doubt  lived
I venture to say, I want to know yours
My heart and mind are open, waiting for you to give
I will share with you my soul,  just ask of me

Common ground we no doubt share
Two deep souls, conversing; bonding
Could it be?

Maybe my heart is being foolish once again
To think I would catch your eye
I almost feel an urge to cry
But Im happy to be just your friend

Common ground we no doubt share
A spark you have ignited, inspiring me
Could it be?
