Seaside Town
1. Head for the first shop!
Go towards the first door with the spinning mushroom on top (towards the entrance at the bottom-left). If you have a lot of money, you can buy cool items such as the ice bomb, fire bomb, muku cookie, and bad mushroom!
2. Talk to the Elder
After exiting the item shop, go more or less straight up until you come to a house. Go in, and talk to the villiage elder. He'll tell you that Johnny Jones, the pirate, has the 5th star, and you need to go into his territory to get it. Now you're ready to head for the Sea!
Sea
1. Buy the armor/weapons
You need to talk to the guy behind the crates near the entrance. He'll sell you new armor and Bowser's new weapon, the Hurly Gloves. Relax if you don't have the coins needed to buy this stuff; there are a lot of coins in the Sunken Ship, as well as another guy tryin' to sell you the same stuff.
2. Enter the whirlpools
After you've gotten the invincible star, all that stuff, and have exited the cave, you'll be at the beach. Enter the whirlpools, and jump down the ship by entering it like a pipe at the top of the mast.
Sunken Ship-
1. Treasures of the deep
As you explore the top levels of the ship, you'll notice all kinds of treasures, anywhere from the vast, almost unending supply of coins to the flower found behind the crates, this place has IT ALL!! Explore this, and be sure to get all the coins.
2. Password, please.
You eventually come to an area where you need a password. I won't directly spoil the surprize for those of you who really want to figure this out, so I'll repeat the clues again.

"At least...two consonants are side by side."
"The 'R' comes before the 'L'."
"There are two vowels in the word."
"It is found on the bed of the ocean."
"There are four consonants."
and Two letters are correct as is.

3. King Calamari
Even though you may have figured out what the password is, you still have to fight this giant squid. I suggest using bombs if necessary, and bring plenty of able juices and freshen ups, considering he uses the "sand storm" attack. Also, equip one of your characters with the fearless pin.
4. Dive in!
After you've passed the bullet guys and the chest monster, it's time for you to dive in the water. To dive in, go to one of the whirlpools. There are several frog coins in the first 2 screens, but something much more important in the fourth and final underwater screen.
5. Safety Ring
Behind the large stack of barrels and the bloober with its babies, there is a door, almost totally hidden from view, except for a small part of the window, which looks green. Go in it once you find it, and get the Safety Ring from the treasure box inside. The Safety Ring prevents most magics, makes that character immune to sleep, scarecrow, mushroom, poison, silence, and even sleep attacks!! It also prevent the die instantly spells (mortal attacks), such as Silver Bullet, Last shot, Migraine, and Shaker!
6. The pirates are coming!
Just as soon as you have gotten out of the water you have to fight 2 strains of pirates!! The first set has 4, and the second contains 5!! Also, don't forget to get the mushroom inside the treasure box after you're done.
7. Here's Johnny!
Finally, after all that work, you've made it!! This stage is one of the most, if not THE MOST, challenging, secretive, yet fun in the game. But don't think Johnny's just gonna give the star to ya!! He and his minions have something else in mind. My suggestion is to attack 3 of the 4 bandana blues, leaving one alive so Mario won't have to fight Johnny 1 on 1. After you beat him, you've got the star. Now head DIRECTLY back to Seaside town!
Seaside Town-
1. You've been TRICKED!
Well, it seems like one of Smithy's goons, Yaridovich, wanted brownie (merit) points to suck up to Smithy. So he tricked you into getting the star FOR HIM!! Relax, and just give him the star the first time, and you'll see why if you beat him.
2. Yaridovich runs, and Johnny's your friend?!
Chase after Yaridovich, and he'll be waiting by the sea for the large ax (whom you'll later see) named Blade. Eventually, none other than Johnny Jones keeps Yaridovich at bay, so you can get the star back!! Although it's probably the third hardest battle in the game, behind Smithy and Culex!!!
3. Geno's the key...
When fighting Yaridovich, you should have Geno on your team because of his powerful Geno Boost, which will raise offense, and, if timed right, defense as well. This, as well as many bombs will be needed to fight Yaridovich.
4. Finally! Freedom!
After toasting Yaridovich into kingdom come, you need to pick up the Shed Key and unlock that "forbidden" building previously blocked by the two goons. You'll receive the gratitude of all the townspeople, as well as a prize from the villiage elder. It can range anywhere from a FLOWER BOX (raises total FP by 5) to 1 lousy coin, depending on how many times he was tickled by Yarid's goons. SEE!! That's why I told you to just hand it over on the first time!
5. Talk to the *real* elder
After you've saved them, you need to talk to the real villiage elder, in the same house where the fake one was. He'll tell you about a Monstro Town star. Now it looks like you're headed to Land's End!
