Links   RLW Shay Kit        Track

This is a GHQ C&S #9 that I built for a guy in Dallas. It was my second one to build. Its held together with super glue. When I got it the mechanism it was disassembled. I had to requarter the wheels which is a pain but i now know how to do it. It is also painted in the same way as my Shay. If anyone is interested in having a engine built I might be willing to do it if you email me.MMyers19@aol.com

This is RLW RGS #20 it is my current project right now. I'm at a stand still because I do not have the mechanism.

This is my nearly completed rotary snow plow. Its a Dimi Trains model that I narrowed the trucks and added MT wheel sets to. I am working the tender still which is free lanced using a RLW casting. It will be decaled for DRG&W.

This is my low sided 1500 series gondola I am scratch building. I have not finished the underside frame yet. I intend on casting these for my own use unless anyone else wants one. I have made my molds and this car is looking great i will get a few pictures up this week for your viewing. Please email me your comments I like to know what people think.

Here its my 1500 series gondola. This one is a resin casting of the one i scratch built. It is two peace casting it consist of the upper half with the sides and the bottom having the stake pockets. Theses are the first castings I have done and they seemed to turn out pretty good.

Theses two shots show the brake platform and underside. The truss rods are .010 brass wire with a drop of super glue at the midpoint of each to simulate a turnbuckle. The car is super glued together and painted Floquil Boxcar Red. This was the first time I brushed on Floquil enamel. Next time I will use a air brush i found it did not seem to cover well. If you are interested in this car email me. I will be selling this car for a price of $9.95 plus shipping.

Heres a pic of what comes in the kit. Top is a assembled car not included.

Two of my new Micro Trains box cars sitting on a piece of there track.

Some useful information on mounting trucks and couplers. If your like me tend to forget information you don't often use. Anyway I always forget the drill bit size to use for each of these.

Couplers use a .038 bit

Trucks use .055 bit
