MANCHESTER WAR MEMORIAL The new War Memorial was rededicated on November 1, 1998 Located in front of the Memorial Building, 3208 York ST, this Monument includes veterans from the Manchester area that served during WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon/Grenada, and Desert Storm. Purpose: To present displays, collections, and programs by individuals and groups that relate to the history of the Manchester area. Services: The Manchester Historical Center is open the first Sunday of each month from 1 PM to 4 PM. The center will be closed when the Snow Emergency Plan is in effect and the Sunday before Labor Day. Groups may make appointments for private showings. Volunteers are welcome, especially those with skills in cataloging and displays. Local citizens as well as visitors are encouraged to visit and enjoy the Manchester Historical Center.

Its purpose is to bring character building, citizenship training, and fitness to the youth of America. Services: Plans programs related to maritime careers, seamanship, and services to the community. Provides young men and women with the opportunity to follow the traditions of the sea while learning about what the future holds for careers related to the sea or a life-long hobby of recreational boating. Ship 320 maintains two sailboats, follows a challenging rank advancement program, and utilizes nautical uniforms, customs, and ceremonies. The program is based on matching the interests of the members with the skills, equipment, and resources of the unit. Ship 320 follows the traditional advancement program found in the Sea Exploring Manual and encourages members to earn the ranks of Apprentice, Ordinary, Able and Quartermaster (equivalent to the BSA Eagle rank). Ship 320 participates in the annual Winter Special Olympics, affording the youth an opportunity to earn volunteer service hours. Meetings are held every Thursday at 7 PM at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3184 Church ST, Manchester, MD. Serves: Manchester, Hampstead, Westminster, and surrounding areas.
