Fairbanks [6059]
was introduced in May, 1999 with 7th generation hang tags.
When Fairbanks' picture was first displayed on the Ty Internet site, there was question as
to whether he was a dog or a bear. This little guy is most definitely a bear.
He's a little over 8 inches tall with long white fur airbrushed gray at the tips.
He's got large round black eyes, a shaved elongated snout. He is embellished with
black paw stitching. His 7th gen hang tag says "Land of the Midnight Sun."
He was retired on May 22, 2000.
Fairchild
[6220]
is an 8" non-jointed
cat introduced to the Attic collection in January 2000. He is structurally
the same as Cromwell and the non-jointed bear quartet. Fairchild is grey
with white paw pads, tail tip, and muzzle. He has two-tone blue eyes and
white stringy whiskers. Fairchild wears a a navy blue neck collar.
His hang tag goes along with Cromwell's stating "While the Cat's
Away..."
Fern [6235]
was introduced at the end of June, 2000 along with her
look-a-like siblings, River and Clay. She's an 8" bear with long,
straight, shiny olive green fur. She has the larger head and wide gusset associated
with the Merrythought Bears in the UK. Fern has brown two-toned eyes and a
shaved snout. She has a black notched embroidered nose and a smiling
mouth. She wears a coordinating sheer olive green neck ribbon. Her
7th generation hang tag says, "Give Peas a Chance!"
Franny
[6229]
was interoduced at the end of June, 2000 and is a
darling 8" tall white bear wearing a patriotic red, white, and blue striped
long sleeved dress. She has close set black eyes and a black nose with
black embroidered accents. She wears a red bow over her right ear and her
7th generation hang tag says, "Hip Hip Hooray For The USA!" We
like to think that Ty named her after one of our special mailing list members
who recently passed away.
Fraser [6010]
was
designed and named after Ruth Fraser, a Canadian Teddy bear artist. He was one of
the original group of Attics and was first released with the Hong Kong hang tag and the
red and white artist signed tush tag. He is a tan 8" bear and can be found
wearing a green neck ribbon in his early generations and a blue knit sailor sweater in the
later generations. Fraser can be found with 1st through 6th generation hang
tags. He was officially retired on July 31, 1998.
Frederick [6072]
was a summer introduction in 1996. He is a gold 8"
bear who looks suspiciously like Reggie...in fact on some Fredericks, you can see some
remnants of eyebrows suggesting that he could have once started life as a Reggie.
Frederick was only produced with 5th generation hang tags and wears a maroon multi-colored
striped v-neck sweater. He was retired shortly after his introduction making
him a rare find.
Gem [6107]
is an elegant white 13" bear with nubby fur who was introduced on
9-30-98. She comes only with the 7th generation hang tag and wears a ruby colored
velvet cloak with gold brocade trim. Gem was retired on December 31, 1998,
a short three
months after her introduction and is likely to be highly sought after in the future.
Georgette [6091]
is one of the newest introductions to the Attic line hitting the
shelves in early January, 1999. She is a 9" white goose with a blue satin
ribbon tied around her neck and moveable wings and legs. Her 7th generation
hang tag says, "And They Lived Happily
Ever After!." She was retired on May 22, 2000.
Georgia [6095]
was one of the most highly awaited of the 1999 New Year
arrivals. Unfortunately, her actual appearance failed to live up to the darling
pictures, yet she is still a cute item. At 8", Georgia is a petite white rabbit
splotched with red, blue, purple, and green paint. She clutches a painted egg
between her front paws. Her 7th generation hang tag says "Follow Your
Rainbow!." She was retired on May 22, 2000.
Gilbert [6006]
is
one of the original Attics first introduced in 1993. He was designed by Linda Harris
and is available with 1st generation hang tags and 5th generation hang tags only. He
was initially produced with a maroon neck ribbon that was quickly changed to a red
ribbon. In the fifth generation, he was officially given blue denim overalls with
gold eagle buttons, but Gilbert can sometimes be found dressed with 1st generation hang
tags as well.
Gilbert White [6015]
was also
designed by Linda Harris and was produced only in the 1st generation with Hong Kong
printed hang tags. He shares the same style number as Nicholas and indeed looks
identical. The two can only be distinguished from each other by the name on the hang
tag or with close inspection of the black and white tush tag. Gilbert White's tush
tag will have the words "All rights reserved" while Nicholas' tag will read
"surface washable". Both Gilbert White and Nicholas in the 1st generation
are rare bears. Gilbert White was not listed in the annual TY catalogs.
Gloria [6123]
the patriotic bunny was
introduced at the end of June, 1998. She was the first of the Attic line to wear a
smile on her sweet face. She is similar in form and size to Bloom at 13".
Gloria never made it to the store shelves in much of the country and was retired less than
a month and a half after she was introduced. She remains a must have for the
collection.
Gordon [6110]
is one of the two bigger Attics released on New Years, 1999.
He is a large 13" bear wearing a yellow rain slicker and matching hat. He is
available with 7th generation hang tags. Gordon was recalled in the UK due to
the lead content in his rain coat and was soon quietly retired in the US as
well.
Grace [6142]
the hippo was one of the
unconventional Spring, 1998 introductions to the Attic line. In her pink tulle tutu,
she was available with 6th generation hang tags only. Grace was mercifully retired
on 9-20-98.
Grady/Grover Gold [6051]
a
16" gold colored nappy near was first introduced with 4th generation hang tags and a
blue neck ribbon before he was switched to a green multicolored striped sweater
vest. Grover Gold underwent a name change in mid 1996 when he was called
Grady. There are far more Grover Golds out there with 5th generation hang tags than
there are Gradys making the Grady hang tag highly desired. Both were retired in
1997.
Grant [6101]
was introduced in the
spring of 1998 with 6th generation hang tags. His patriotic flag
sweater proclaims his American heritage loud and clear. He is currently available
with 7th generation hang tags which says, Let Freedom Ring!" and looks wonderful sitting next to Mackenzie and Jack.
He was retired on August 30, 1999.
Greyson
[6234]
was first discovered in the U.K. by collectors looking
for the new 2000 summer Attics. He commanded a high price for US
collectors until he was officially announced as a regular style in September,
2000. He, along with his twin Birch, are a continuation of the
non-jointed Attics that collectors, as a whole, have been unhappy with.
Greyson has large "mouse-like" ears and is made of a sparse ratty
slate colored fur that probably was supposed to simulate the sparse mohair used on artist
Teddy Bears. He has an embroidered traditional notched bear nose and is
adorned with a simple sheer grey ribbon edged in gold. His 7th generation
hang tag says, "Behind Every Cloud Is A Silver Lining!"
Grover [6050 & 6100]
appears
to have been a favorite name of Mr. Warners, as it has been used for three different style
numbers in the Attic family. Grover was designed by Ruth Fraser and was introduced
initially with 2nd generation hang tags and a green satin neck ribbon. In the fifth
generation, Grover was dressed in green corduroy overalls with gold buttons. Grover
2nd-5th generations measures around 15" in height. This version was retired in
1997 and in 1998, a new Grover #6100 was introduced at a height of 13" with the same
green overalls without buttons. This version was soon retired as well leaving no
Grovers as currents.
Gwyndolyn [6209]
is one of the most
beautiful bears of the Attic Treasures' collection. She comes in both 8
and 9 inch versions and is made from similar fur as Cassie. Gwyndolyn has
a gold thread nose and matching paw accents. Only the top of her nose is
shaved. Her hooded cloak is made from white velvet with an elegant gold
print and is trimmed with gold brocade. Her 7th generation hang tag says
"All That Glitters" and she certainly does! She was
retired on May 22, 2000.
Harper [6214]
is another of the
non-jointed bears introduced in January of 2000. He is a lemon yellow
grinning bear wearing a sheer lime green neck ribbon edged in gold. His
cream paw pads are accented with a light rust stitching. Harper's 7th
generation hang tag says "Cream of the Crop." He was retired on
July 6, 2000.
Hayes [6212]
is yet another non-jointed
bear made from the same pattern as Harper, Carson, Fairchild, Cromwell, and
Berkley. Like the others, he has the bent legs, insipid grin, and cream
paw pads. His 7th generation hang tag says "You're Peachy."
He was retired on July 6, 2000.
Heartley [6111]
is the other large bear introduced in January, 1999. He is a
classic bear with an exquisitely contoured face. Heartley stands 12" tall and
wears a white turtleneck sweater with a large heart knitted into the front and adorning
the sleeves. He is currently available with 7th generation hang tags.
Heartley was retired on May 22, 2000.
Heather [6061]
was
introduced in 1996 with 5th generation hang tags and a maroon neck ribbon. Later in
the 5th generation, she was dressed in denim striped overalls with blue buttons.
Heather was responsible for getting many a collector, including myself, started with
getting the whole collection. Unfortunately, Heather was retired in 1997, but
remains one of the more popular members of the Attic family.
Henry [6005]
the brown bear was
designed by Ruth Fraser and was introduced initially as a gold bear
with the red and white artist signed
tush tag. Unfortunately, the gold color proved to be unpopular in the eyes of the
powers that be, so Henry was redone in dark brown with a green neck ribbon. He was
retired after the 1st generation, but was reintroduced in the 5th generation wearing teal
overalls with and without gold buttons. He was retired for the second time in
1997. During the time Henry was not a member of the official Attic current line, he
was working for Roots clothing in Canada modeling miniature Roots outfits.
Iris [6077]
is one of three sister
bunnies introduced in the Spring of 1998 with 6th generation hang tags. She is a
10" tall, floppy eared tan bunny wearing lavender corduroy overalls with a purple
embroidered rosette on the front. She was retired on 12-31-98 wearing 7th
generation hang tags.
Isabella [6109]
was introduced to the Attic line on 9-30-98. She is a large
tan bear wearing a leopard print jacket and matching hat. She should, but does not,
wear pants :-) Isabella was introduced with 7th generation hang tags and
was retired on May 22, 2000.
Ivan [6029]
was first made part of
the Attic family in 1995 with 2nd generation hang tags. He is an 8" pot bellied
black bear with a tan snout and paw accents. Ivan has never worn clothes and was
retired with 7th generation hang tags on 7-13-99.
Ivory [6062]
has been popular with
collectors since her introduction in 1996. She is a large 15" tall white cat
with lovely blue eyes. Ivory first arrived wearing a pink satin neck ribbon and the
early 5th generation red and white tush tag. In 1997, she was sold dressed in blue
corduroy overalls with white and black marbled buttons. Ivory was only manufactured
with 5th generation hang tags and was retired in 1997.
Ivy [6076]
is another of the three
bunny sisters brought to the Attic family in Spring, 1998. She is a 10" white
shaggy rabbit wearing turquoise corduroy overalls with a pink embroidered rosette on
them. Ivy can be found with either 6th or 7th generation hang tags. She was
retired on 12-31-98.
Jack [6989]
the bear has yet to be
acknowledged by the official TY site, but has appeared thus far only in the UK. He
is similar to Grant, but wears a lovely white sweater embellished with the union jack on
the front. His hang tag is a hybrid 6th-7th generation with the 6th gen coloring and
the 7th gen wording. Jack is exclusive to that country
making him hot property in the states. He was officially retired on May
27, 2000, but was unavailable to stores for months prior to that.
Jangle [6082]
is an adorable little 8" brown shaggy bear sporting a maroon
cap with a little jingly bell in the tip. He also wears a coordinating scarf around
his neck. Jangle was introduced with 7th generation hang tags in September, 1998 and
was soon retired in December of that same year.
Jeremy [6008]
is one of the elite group
of initial Attics introduced in 1993. His earliest variation has the super rare red
and white artist signed tush tag showing that he was a creation of Linda Harris.
Jeremy is a 12" tall tan bunny and can be found in 1st through 5th generations of
hang tags. In his earlier versions, Jeremy wears a plum colored neck ribbon.
In 1997, he was first released with the same burgundy sweater vest that Barry wears, but
was soon switched to plum colored overalls with white buttons. Jeremy was retired in
1997 with 5th generation hang tags.
Justin [6044]
is a later bloomer to the
collector's fancy. He was introduced in 1996 with 5th generation hang tags and the
early red and white fifth generation tush tag. Justin is a large 14" monkey who
wears a green and white striped sweater with a large collar. While he was current,
Justin was not very popular, but lately, he has hit his stride on the secondary
market. Justin was retired in 1997.
King [6049 &
6140]
was introduced along with
Prince in 1996. He was first introduced with 5th generation hang tags and was
approximately 9" big. He first came out naked with a red and white tush tag,
but was soon adorned in a burgundy velour cape tied at his neck with a ribbon.
Little King was retired in 1997, but the very next spring, he was reintroduced in a larger
11" version.
Kingston [6236]
was
introduced on June 24, 2000 and was a bit of a surprise to Attic collectors who
thought that Ty's days of non-traditional animal Attics was gone. Not only
is Kingston a lion, but he's also an unjointed style. He is a thin, 6 1/2
inch tall sitting lion with experiencing a perpetual bad hair day.
Kingston has a tufted tail and brown paw accents. He has no adornments
making him an Attic rarity. His 7th generation hang tag says "King Of
Hearts!"
Klause [6239]
was introduced in September, 2000 and was
out on the shelves the very next week. He is a gorgeous white bear with
large, two-toned brown eyes and a black nose and black paw accents. Poor
thing has no mouth :-( Klause is wearing a luxurious burgandy velvet coat with
green plush edging. He wears a matching stocking cap and is destined to be
a part of many holiday displays. His 7th generation hang tag says,
"Sleigh What?"
Laurel/Holly [6081]
was recently introduced on September 30, 1998. She was one
of the last of her group to appear on the store shelves and first appeared with 7th
generation hang tags. A VERY few Laurels snuck through with 6th generation hang tags
and the name "Holly" on them. The Holly/Laurels may prove to be as rare,
if not MORE rare, than the Whisker/Woolies. Laurel was sadly retired just a few
months later on 12-31-98. She is a beautiful little 8" green bear wearing a
burgundy Victorian collar.
Lawrence [6053]
was the most interesting Attic released in May, 1999. He is
a darling camel with intricate detail measuring 7" in height by 8" in
length. He has brown nappy fur on his legs and body embellished with tufted
brown fur on his chest, at the top of his head, and at the top of his hump.
His feet are golden brown velvet which matches the material on his snout and tail.
Lawrence is adorned with a velvety "Persian" rug camel saddle and shoelace
reigns. His 7th generation hang tag says "I Won't Leave you High and Dry."
He was retired on May 3, 2000.
Lily [6037]
is an adorable little
9" grey and white lamb who was first brought to the Attic line with 2nd generation
hang tags. She is found in the early generations wearing a pink satin neck ribbon,
but in the 5th generation was dressed in burgundy velour overalls with unique silver
buttons. Lily was retired with 6th generation hang tags in May of 1998.
Mackenzie [6999]
the
bear was a surprise to us all when he appeared on the shelves in Canada in the Winter of
1998. He looks like Grant, except instead of the US flag, he wears a Canadian maple
leaf on his sweater. At this time, Mackenzie has not been recognized on the TY
Internet site and appears to be exclusive to Canada. Mackenzie was
officially announced and retired on the Ty web-site on May 27, 2000, but he had
been unavailable in stores for months prior to that date.
Madison [6035]
was
introduced in 1995 with 2nd generation hang tags. She is a sweet 9" black and
white cow with horns and wears a red neck ribbon in her early generations and blue and
white striped overalls with and without blue buttons in the 5th generation. She was
retired with 6th generation hang tags in May of 1998 and is quickly becoming one of the
more popular attics on the secondary market.
Malcolm [6026]
first
came to the Attic family in 1995 with 2nd generation hang tags. He was designed by
Nola Hart, who also designed Cassie, and indeed, Malcolm is very like Cassie in structure
and feel. He is an 11" medium brown bear wearing either a burgundy neck ribbon
or a red, white, and blue sweater with a large collar. Malcolm was retired in 1997
with 5th generation hang tags.
Malcolm [6112]
was reintroduced in May, 1999, but the name seems to be the only
thing that he has in common with Malcolm 6026. He stand 12 inches high without his
fur hat which adds another 3 inches to his height making him one of the tallest of the
recent attics. He is dressed in the garb of the "Queen's guards" wearing a
red coat trimmed in yellow with black and gold edging on the collar and sleeves. It
is belted at the waist with a black belt with velcro closure. Malcolm's hat is made
of synthetic fur and has a neck chin although the hat itself, is attached to his head by
string. His 7th generation hang tag says "March to a Different Drum.
He was retired on May 22, 2000.
Marigold [6228]
was
introduced on June 24, 2000 and is a triplet to Armstrong and Scarlet. She
is a 9" non-jointed style in a pretty nappy pale yellow fur. Marigold
has close-set black eyes and a beige notched bear nose and no paw pads.
She wears a sheer lime green neck ribbon trimmed with a line of gold. Her
7th generation hang tag says, "Happiness Is In Bloom!"
Mason [6020]
is a small 8" shaggy
brown bear cut in a mold similar to Fraser. He was first introduced with 2nd
generation hang tags in 1995. Early Mason's can be found wearing a burgundy neck
ribbon while later on, he was dressed in a green knit sweater with white stripes and a
wide collar. Mason was retired in May, 1998.
Max [????]
Merwyn
[6243]
was introduced in September, 2000 and
almost immediately started showing up on store shelves. He was one of the
more anticipated styles of his group of introductees. He is a nappy brown
bear with close-set black eyes and a black nose. Like Klause, Merwyn has
no mouth, but perhaps being a wizard, he doesn't need one. He is wearing a
long black wizard's robe with a gold star motif. It is tied at his waist
with a black and gold twisted rope belg. His head is topped with a pointed
matching hat with a triple gold ribbon tip. Merwyn's 7th generation hang
tag asks "One Newt Or Two?" He looks splendid paired with Gwendolyn.
Montgomery [6143]
the
moose was one of the "non-traditional" additions to the Attic family in the
Spring of 1998. He is a large 15" moose wearing a tan safari vest. He was
introduced with 6th generation hang tags and was quickly retired on September 20,
1998. He was not one of the more popular guys.
Morgan [6018]
is a
dear little monkey who was first introduced in 1994 with 1st generation hang tags.
He is a small, 8" brown monkey. In his earliest form, Morgan had a round furry
face and wore a navy blue neck ribbon. He was missing from the Attic line in the
middle generations, but reappeared wearing 5th generation hang tags and an off-white
fleece vest with a wooden button. He was retired in the 6th generation on July 31,
1998
Mulligan [6231]
was
introduced on June 24, 2000 and looks like he belongs on a European tennis
court. He is a light golden bear with close-set black eyes and a brown
nose. His white paws have brown embroidered accents. Mulligan is
dressed in navy brown slacks velcroed closed at the ankles. His sweater us
a blue and white diamond pattern and a jaunty navy blue cap sits atop his
head. His 7th generation hang tag says, " Here Birdie Birdie
Birdie...!"
Murphy [6033]
is
one of the dog trio introduced with 2nd generation hang tags in 1995. He is a small
8" with light tan fur and can be found either naked or with his characteristic blue
jean overalls with little baseball buttons. Murphy, along with his other dog
brothers, was retired in 1997.
Nicholas [6015]
was first introduced with
1st generation hang tags in 1994. First generation Nicholas are difficult to tell
from the highly coveted White Gilbert, but in truth, mint 1st gen Nicholases are perhaps
even more rare. Although they share the same style number, White Gilbert and
Nicholas are indeed separate entities. Without the hang tag, it is still possible to
tell them apart by the wording on their 1st generation black and white tush tags.
White Gilberts will say "ALL RIGHTS RESERVED" while Nicholas' tag will read
"SURFACE WASHABLE". Early Nicholas sported a red neck bow, but in the 5th
generation, he was dressed in a red sweater with a large white heart in the middle.
Nicholas was retired on July 31st, 1998 wearing 6th
generation hang tags. He was selected by the first annual "ty collectibles
convention" as their mascot.
Nola [6014]
rates right up there with
one of most popular Attics through the years. She was designed by and named for Nola
Hart and is a lovely 12" white bear with dangly legs. She was initially
released with 1st generation hang tags and a coral satin neck ribbon. Nola comes in
many variations, and it is hard not to try to get them all. Early Nolas can be found
with a black or brown nose, large or small feet, and a neck ribbon or a pink head
bow. Some 1st generation Nolas have been found in wearing her 5th generation pink
sundress and matching bonnet, but thus far, all of these early dressed Nolas have come
from other countries. Nola, along with her sisters Emily and Rebecca, was retired in
1997.
North [????]
Orion [6207]
was
added to the Attic collection in the Fall of 1999. He is an adorable
8" tall bear made with a fur unique to the Attics thus far. His dark
blue fur is interspersed with clear shiny plastic strips giving it a
sparkling quality. Orion has an elongated snout with overly large close
set eyes. He wears a blue knit sweater adorned with silver
stars. His 7th generation hang tag says "You're My Universe."
He was retired on May 22, 2000.
Oscar [6025]
was introduced in 1995
with 2nd generation hang tags. He is an 8" light brown bear sporting a dark
blue neck ribbon in the early generations and green corduroy overalls in the 5th and 6th
generations. His clothes were never produced with buttons on them. Oscar has a
shaved snout and looks like a miniature version of Malcolm. He was retired in May of
1998.
