Abby [6027]
designed by Linda Harris
and introduced in the 1995 catalog with 2nd generation hang tags. She is 8"
tall and wears a burgundy neck ribbon in the earlier generations, maroon corduroy overalls
in the fifth generation and the same corduroys with a flower applique in the 6th
generation. She was retired in May of 1998.
Alfalfa [6241]
was introduced in September of 2000 just in
time to be included in the Fall displays. He is an 8" golden bears
with black close-set eyes and gold embroidered nose and paw accents. He is
wearing a one-piece scarecrow outfit made out of a velveteen material with plaid
woven accents. He has a braided rope belt tied at the waist and the outfit
is completed with a matching tattered hat. His 7th generation hang tag
says, "Let Them Eat Crow!"
Allura [6058]
is an
sweet 8" nappy brown bear with a long shaved snout. She is wearing a tightly
fitting red one-piece swimsuit and carries a blue and white vinyl life preserver over her
right shoulder. Allura was introduced with 7th generation hang tags in May,
1999. Her tag says "Sunny Days are Here Again." She was
retired on March 15, 2000.
Amethyst [6131]
was introduced in early 1998 with 6th generation hang tags.
She is 13" tall and a smaller version of Ivory dressed in a lavender velveteen jumper
with a pink rosette on it. She was retired on July 31st, 1998 soon after
she was introduced making her a very collectible cat.
Amore [6206]
is a 9" long white pot-bellied bear
reminiscent of Sally Winey's creations. He has an embroidered red heart
saying I Y U
and wears a long coordinating red ribbon around his neck. Amore was
released in January, 2000 with 7th generation hang tags. He has close set black
eyes with an embroidered "notched bear" nose and black paw
accents. His hang tag says "With All My Heart!"
He was retired on March 15, 2000.
Armstrong [6226]
was
introduced the last week of June, 2000. He is a triplet to Scarlet and
Marigold. All three bears are 8" with nappy fur. They have
close-set black eyes and have a traditional "notched" embroidered
nose. Armstrong is simply adorned with a sheer navy blue neck ribbon edged
with gold. His 7th generation hang tag says, "And a Tuppence in My
Shoe!"
Azalea [6093]
is an 8" plush lavender bunny introduced for
the 1999 New Year. She has two-toned blue rimmed eyes, clear whiskers, white paw
pads, and a lavender neck ribbon. Her 7th generation hang tag says
"Hare Today - Gone Tomorrow." She was retired on
April 28, 2000.
Azure [6055]
is a
stunningly beautiful 8" bear with vivid hues of blue and auquas highlighting her soft
fur. She is so much prettier in real life than can be seen from her pictures, but at
least it shows her unique coloring. Azure's face appears to be similar to Camelia
with a happy-go-lucky grin. She wears a similar neck ribbon too, except hers is a
blue color. Azure was introduced in May, 1999 with a 7th generation hang tag
declaring "I'm Blue Without You." She was retired on May 22, 2000.
Baron [6225]
is
a dapper light yellow 8" bear with close-set black eyes and black
embroidered accents. He is wearing a zippered leatherette bomber jacket
with the "ty" heart logo embroidered on the back. He was the
hands down winner of the best style of the introduction. Baron's 7th
generation hang tag says, "Fly High!"
Barry [6073]
appeared
only in a Spring, 1997 Flyer to retailers and never officially made it into the Ty, Inc.
catalogs. He is a lovely 11" bear similar to Cassie and wears a burgundy knit
sweater. He was retired in the summer of 1997 almost right after his introduction
making him one rare bear indeed!
Basil [????]
Beargundy [6205]
was introduced in the Fall of 1999. Beargundy is
9" tall and has shiny burgundy colored fur with an elongated shaved snout
and close set black eyes. He is wearing a burgundy neck ribbon lined with
gold thread. He has spindly legs with big feet. The fur on this bear
is similar to the new type of fur first seen on Azure. He was a very
welcome addition to the Attic family. His 7th generation hang tag says
"Bear With Me." He was retired on May 22, 2000.
Bearkhardt [6204]
is a darling 8" tall
tan bear with a shaved snout and close set black eyes. He has short stubby
legs with black paw accents. Bearkhardt is dressed in a striking red knit
sweater with a green heart and check pattern. His 7th generation hang tag
says "You Make Things Bearable!" He was retired on May 22, 2000.
Bearington [6102]
was introduced in early 1998. He is a large 14" plush
bear with dangly feet. His wears a large brown and black neckbow. Early
versions of Bearington have a nappy plush, but the later versions are more
"silky". Bearington was retired on September 20, 1998. Although
Bearington was retired in the 6th generation, his 7th generation "Be My
Bow" hang tags have appeared
on the Canadian bear, Mackenzie!
Beezee [6088]
is one of
the new 1999 introductions to the Attic line. He is an adorable 8" bear wearing
a bee costume. He
has a few different variations to his costume with the width of the
stripes. He was retired on 12-12-99.
Berkley
[6218]
was introduced to the Attic
collection in January, 2000 amid much discussion. He, along with five
other Attics, deviate from the traditional definition of the Attic Treasure line
in that he is not jointed. Berkley is an 8 inch tall brown nappy bear with
bent legs. He has brown stitching accents which includes a large grin
stretching from one side of his shaved muzzle to the other. He wears a
sheer crimson bow with gold accents. Berkely's 7th generation hang says
"Love is the Answer!" Berkley was retired on 8-23-2000.
Beverly [6210]
was introduced to the Attic
collection in January, 2000. She is a 10" long tan bear with bent
knees and ankles. She has a round matching "cottontail" on her
tush. Like Amore, she has the classic bear nose and no mouth. Her
nose and paw stitching is medium brown and she has large close set black
eyes. Beverly wears a white satin and mesh neck ribbon embellished with
gold. Her 7th generation hang tag says "You Have Me In A
Whirlwind."
Birch [6232]
was first discovered in the U.K. by collectors looking
for the new 2000 summer Attics. He commanded a high price for US
collectors until he was officially announced as a regular style in September,
2000. He, along with his twin Greyson, are a continuation of the
non-jointed Attics that collectors, as a whole, have been unhappy with.
Birch has large "mouse-like" ears and is made of a sparse ratty brown
fur that probably was supposed to simulate the sparse mohair used on artist
Teddy Bears. He has an embroidered traditional notched bear nose and is
adorned with a simple sheer brown ribbon edged in gold. His 7th generation
hang tag says, "Growing Old Gracefully!"
Blarney [6215]
was introduced in January, 2000 with 7th generation
hang tags. As soon as his picture was released on the Ty
site, there was speculation that he was a recycled Tyra, and indeed, as soon
as he was in hand, observant collectors found the tell-tale signs of loose
threads up by his right ear and some even reported finding the red string where
Tyra's pom-poms were once attached.
Blarney measures 8 inches tall, is made from napped golden brown fur, and has a
shaved snout. He has black close-set eyes and wears a green knit sweater
with a white four-leaf clover embroidered on it. His 7th generation hang
tag says
"Kiss Me, I'm Irish!" A few Blarneys have also been released
still wearing the Tyra hang tag.
Benjamin [6023]
was introduced in the 1995 catalog with 2nd generation hang
tags. He is an 8" bunny and can be found with either a pink neck bow or his
green striped v-neck sweater. His 2nd generation hang tags can be found with the
"beanie babies collection" listed on his tag. Benjamin was not produced
again until the 5th generation and was retired in 1997.
Bloom [ 6122]
is a
13" tall white rabbit with long dangly ears and legs dressed in a flattering
vegetable print dress with a teal collar. She was introduced in early 1998 and was
retired a few months later in May.
Bluebeary [6080]
was the most sought addition when he was introduced in early
1998. He is a darling nappy little 8" bear in a light blue color wearing a
light blue neck ribbon. He was officially retired on 5-11-99 with 7th generation
hang tags.
Blush [6208]
This
adorable 8" tall (11"with ears) scruffy pale pink bunny is the cutest
(in my opinion) of the January, 2000 releases. Blush has a dusty rose
embroidered nose, mouth, and paw accents with black close-set eyes. She
wears a double bowed pink ribbon trimmed with gold side accent. Her 7th
generation hang tag says "You Make Me Blush!"
Bonnie [6075]
was
introduced in early 1998 and has been dubbed the "loser" of the line, although
the little 9" scraggly yellow chick with the blue checked bonnet does have her
supporters, especially in the spring time. Bonnie
was mercifully retired on April 28, 2000.
Boris [6041]
the
pot-bellied bear was introduced in 1995 as a larger version of Ivan. He is 12"
tall and wears a green striped knitted sweater. He can be found with both the brown
tush tag and with the red and white early 5th generation tush tag. Boris was retired
in 1997.
Breezy [6057]
an adorable 8" cream colored bear with longer shiny
fur. She wears a navy blue sailor dress with the traditional squared white collar
with blue stars in the corners. Her ensemble is complete with a navy blue bow
attached to the front of her right ear. Breezy has a shaved snout and black
stitching on her paws and nose. Her 7th generation hang tag reads "Ahoy
Mate!" Breezy was introduced in May of 1999. She was retired on
May 22, 2000.
Brewster [6034]
is
one of the doggy brother trio introduced with 2nd generation tags. The naked
versions of the dogs were among the few Attics who did not come with neck ribbons or any
other adornment. Brewster is 8" tall with brown shaggy fur. In the later
generations, he came dressed in blue and white pinstriped overalls with or without blue
buttons. He was retired in 1997.
Brisbane [6052]
is a grizzly fellow from "Down Under" who
was introduced to the Attic line in May, 1999. He is a 9" long with a large
shaggy head with white tufts of hair in in front of his white ear linings. His
fur is two-toned brown and white. Brisbane has a white furry chest and slightly
longer white hair on his chin. He has a large triangular felt nose with large black
eyes set on white felt background. His 7th generation hang tag says "G'Day
Mate." He was
retired on May 22, 2000
Bugsy [6089]
One of the 1999 new
issues, Bugsy is one of the last to show up on the store shelves. He is a darling
8" bear dressed in a ladybug outfit. Bugsy was officially retired on
7-29-99.
Calliope
[6230]
was introduced at the end of June, 2000. She is
an adorable blue 7 1/2" tall bear (without her jester "horns")
dressed in a bright yellow and red striped jester outfit. Calliope has
dark black close-set eyes and a black embroidered nose. Her turquoise paw
pads have no accents on them. Calliope's 7th generation hang tag says,
"Surely You Jest!"
Camelia [6094]
another of the New Year's introductions, Camelia is a charming
8" tall melon colored bunny with a cheery smiling face. She sports the 7th
generation hang tag and wears a matching satin ribbon around her neck. Camelia was
retired on May 24th, 1999 just a mere few months after her release.
Carlton [6064]
was
first introduced with 5th generation hang tags. He appears to be the big brother to
Dexter, sharing a similar coloring and nap. He is a large 15" bear and can be
found with both the brown tush tag and the early red and white heart 5th generation
tush tag. Early on, he was naked with a neck ribbon, but more commonly is found in
his blue and white pinstriped overalls. Carlton was retired in 1997.
Carson
[6216]
is another of the non-jointed bears
introduced in early 2000. He appears to be a cross between a Beanie and
the more traditional Attics. Carson is 8 inches tall wearing a sheer beige
neck ribbon with gold edging. He is structurally identical to
and wears the same insipid smile shared by Hayes, Harper and Berkely. His
7th generation hang tag says "You're as Sweet as Honey," the same
sentiment shared by Cody. He was retired on July 6, 2000.
Casanova [6073]
was
introduced with 6th generation hang tags and is a Henry Brown lookalike. He wears a
white sweater with a red heart. Casanova was retired from the Attic line on March
31, 1999.
Cassie [6028]
is the darling of the
attic line. She was first introduced with second generation hang tags and was later
dressed in a blue velveteen jumper with a pewter button and a matching bow in her
ear. She is 11" high and is made of the same soft fur as Barry. Cassie
was officially retired in 1997, but last Fall, she was shipped en masse to several
retailers and was snatched up quickly by eager collectors causing her value to drop
dramatically on the secondary market.
Catrina [6054]
was introduced in May, 1999. She is a lovely 8 inch tall
white cat with blue two-toned eyes and a pink horizontally stitched nose. Catrina's
hang tag spells her name Katrina. Only time will tell which is the correct
version. She is dressed in an olive green shiny green velveteen jumpsuit with
a rose appliqué' on a green bow. Her hang tag says "Feline Fine"
She was retired on May 22, 2000.
Cawley [6090]
is one of the 1999 New Year "non-traditional"
introductions. He's a darling 9" black crow wearing light blue overalls with a
straw style sun-hat. Although collectors were leery of him at the time of
introduction, Cawley has quickly gained acceptance. He
was retired on May 22, 2000.
Charles [6039]
is
big brother to Dickens. At 12". he is a large taupe colored pot-bellied bear
wearing plum colored overalls with or without gold buttons. Charles was retired in
1997 along with all of the other large attics of his time.
Checkers [6031]
One
of the more enduring members of the Attic family, Checkers was first introduced with
second generation hang tags and no clothes. In the 5th generation, Checkers got a
rust colored sweater vest that he promptly lost in the 6th and 7th generations.
Checkers was retired on May 3, 2000 making him one of the most long produced
Attic of the whole collection.
Chelsea 6070]
was first
released with 5th generation hang tags and has always had her tan and burgundy striped
turtleneck sweater. She is a somewhat shaggy bear with a very sweet expression on
her face. She is similar to her "brother" Christopher and was released at
the same time. She was retired on 9-20-98 and is quickly disappearing from the
shelves.
Cheri [6200]
was
added to the Attic collection in the Fall of 1999. She is an adorable
8"doggie wearing a French beret on her head. She (or it could be a he) has
scruffy dark grey fur with a velvety face, feet, and ear linings and dark black
eyes. Cheri wears a red plaid bow tie. Her 7th gen hang tag says
"Ooh La La!" She was retired on May 22, 2000.
Christopher [6071]
was
released at the same time in 1996 with Chelsea and shares the same style, but with brown
fur instead of gold. His navy corduroy overalls came both with and without gold
eagle buttons. He was retired on 7-31-98.
Clay [6233]
was introduced at the end of June, 2000 along with his
look-a-like siblings, River and Fern. He's an 8" bear with long
straight burnt orange fur. He has the larger head and wide gusset associated
with the Merrythought Bears in the UK. Clay has brown two-toned eyes and a
shaved snout. He has a black notched embroidered nose and a smiling
mouth. He is adorned with a sheer matching neck ribbon. Clay's 7th
generation hang tag says, "Leave It To Me!"
Clifford [6003]
is
considered by many collectors to be the "Grandaddy" of all the attics. He
was first introduced with "Printed in Hong Kong" tags and is 12"
tall. His golden fur can be found both flat and plush. When he was first
produced, he was made with a humpback to denote the old-fashioned theme of the line, but
was quickly changed to a straight-back bear. He wears a green ribbon aorund his neck
and can only be found with 1st generation hang tags.
Clyde [6040]
was introduced in 1996 as
a big brother to Cody. He is a 12" pot-bellied bear and can be found either
naked or with a maroon sweater vest. He was retired in 1997.
Cody [6030]
looks like a smaller
version of Clyde. He was introduced in 1995 with 2nd generation hang tags and has
been one of the few attics to never obtain clothing. He is 8" long with the
same pot-belly as Clyde. He was retired on May 22, 2000.
Colby [6043]
is one of the most
popular members of the Attic family. She (or he) is a 12"tall mouse dressed in
pink velveteen bloomers with a single pearl button. Colby was retired in 1997, but
has recently reappeared on the shelves in several parts of the country, but this time
without her button. Colby can also be found naked, usually with a red and white tush
tag.
Copperfield [6060]
was
at one time, relatively unpopular, but has enjoyed a resurgance as one of the more sought
after retired Attics. At 16", he is one of the tallest of the collection.
With his blue sailor collared sweater and his long dangly legs, he's a hard one to put
down once you've picked him up. Copperfield was officially retired in 1997.
Cromwell [6221]
is the first mouse in the
collections since the retirement of Squeaky in 1998. He is non-jointed
with the same structure as the bears: Berkley, Carson, Hayes, and Harper.
He is a mauve-pink color with tasteful gray paw pads and top stitching and gray
stringy whiskers. He wears a little tacked on navy blue bowtie.
Cromwell's 7th generation hang tag says "The Mice Will
Play."
Darlene
[6208]
was introduced in January,
2000 with 7th generation hang tags. She has the appearance of belonging to
"another popular bear line" Darlene is an 8" scruffy
beige bear with close-set black eyes. She has a medium brown embroidered
nose and paw accents. Darlene is dressed in a mauve crushed velvet dress
with a matching floppy hat. Her hang tag says "Your Heart Be Glad
Forever!"
Dexter [6009]
was first introduced in
1993 with 1st generation hang tags. He comes in two colors, a dusty brown and a more
mustardy tan color. The early Dexters wore a burgundy ribbon around their
necks. In the fifth generation, he was dressed in burgundy striped overalls with a
matching burgandy neck ribbon making him one of the few attics to retain the neck ribbon
in the "dressed" mode. Dexter can be found in 1st through 5th generations
and was retired in 1997.
Dickens [6038]
is
a darling pot-bellied bear first found in the Attic line with 4th generation hang
tags. He was first issued without clothes, and then in the 5th generation, he
attained teal colored overalls with gold sunflower buttons. In the sixth generation,
he was once again naked. Dickens was retired on July 31, 1998.
Digby [6013]
is an oldie to the Attic
family. He was first produced in 1994 with 1st generation hang tags and wore a green
neck ribbon. He comes in 1st generation with both a straight back and a
humpback. He is 12" tall and in the 5th generation, he obtained his classic
red, white, and blue USA sweater vest. Digby was retired in 1997 and remains one of
the most popular bears.
Domino [6042]
, the panda, was
introduced in 1996 with 5th generation hang tags and a red and white tush tag as a large
12" companion to Checkers. He was initially produced without clothes or ribbon,
but later in 1996, he was dressed in purple overalls with white buttons. Domino was
retired in 1997.
Easton
[6217]
was introduced in June, 2000 and joins the non-jointed
styles of Attics. He is supposed to be a Panda bear, but came off as a
thin scraggly thing with panda coloring, but that's where the resemblence
ends. He is wearing a maroon satin bowtie with an oriental motif.
Easton's 7th generation hang tag says, "Good Fortune To You!"
Ebony [6130 & 6063]
was first introduced in
1996 along with her companion, Ivory. She was initially released with 5th generation
hang tags, a red and white tush tag, and a maroon neck ribbon. Later in the 5th
generation, she was dressed in burgundy bloomers with a white satin rose on them.
Before she was retired in 1997, she appeared without the rose. In 1998, Ebony was
given a new life, a new style number of 6130, and shrunk 2 inches to a height of 13",
but otherwise, looked the same. Little Ebony was retired on July 31, 1998.
Emily [6016]
was released in 1994 with
1st generation hang tags a green neck ribbon. She comes in several variations.
The most sought after Emily has the neck ribbon, no ear bow, and big feet. More commonly,
in the early generations, she will be 12" tall, have small feet, and wears a green
ribbon in her ear. Although some early Emilys have been reported dressed, it is most often
the 5th generation Emily who comes with a burgundy floral print dress with a matching
floppy hat. She was retired in 1997.
Esmerelda [6086]
the witch bear, was introduced with 6th generation hang tags in
the Fall of 1998. She was an early release who hit the store shelves a couple of
weeks before she was officially announced on the Ty site. She is an adorable 8"
bear wearing a black cape and pointed witch's hat. She was also produced in the new
7th generation hang tag before she was retired on 12-31-98.
Eve [6106]
was
introduced as part of the Attic family in June, 1998. She is a large 12"
bear wearing a lace cape with a head adornment of satin roses. She was released with
6th generation hang tags and was retired on May 22, 2000 with 7th generation
hang tags.
