Note: Widower of Margariet Hardenbroeck. IMMIGRANT, architect and carpenter for the DWIC. He became First Lord of Philipsburgh
Manor, erected in 1693. He d. 1703. She was instrumental in
getting him to build the "Old Dutch of Sleepy Hollow", then
called the Manor Church. He had a manor house across the Albany
Post Road from the church, in N Tarrytown. His lower manor
house was in Yonkers on the shores of the Saw Mill River, which
got it's name from the mills he built there. Both manor houses
still stand and are open to the public. He was richest man in
the Americas at the time he died.
