Christopher King:
He served in the Revolutionary War with Captain Wilson's Company-- His name appears on the Fine List 1778-1783 (payment due) One pound and 8 shillings.1783 tax records for Monaghan Township show Christoher owning 250 acres, a dwelling house, and a barn. There were tenin habitants.1789 Christophers and Rachael sold their Warrington Township property toRacheal's brother Thomas. And in 1793 Chistopher errected a grist mill on his homestead in Turkeyfoot Township.
The 1790 Census states the King family household as follows:
two males over the age of 16 years,
three males at least sixteenyears of age,
and four females.
By 1810 all of Christopher and Rachael's children had left home.Christopher then a blacksmith signed his Will on 7-6-1806 (five years before his death) and the details are as follows:
Son David, his smithing tools.
His wearing appearl to his brothers Michael and Phillip.
To his widow, Rachael, was to have a good warm room in the home place, a garden, a mare, a cow, and an annuity to be provided by his son John. She was to have ample grain, meat, flax, and wool.Christopher's total land was 562 acres.
Son David was to have159 acre parcel containing the grist mill, named King's Mill.The remaining land was to be divided between son's Thomas, John based on a survey line drawn in 1799.
Mose's received 2 contigous tracts of land totaling 275 acres located between Mud lick Run and Laurel Hill Run, three mile snorth of Ursina, Pa.
One of these properties was called "TheVirgin's Adventure" had been surveyed to his daughter Jane. ToMose's son Christopher received a tract of land 130-135 acres.The 250 acre tract of land in Milford Township was to be sold and daughters Jane Wilson, Catherine Tedrow, and Rachael Reameach to receive equal portions.The excutors was Christopher's brother Philip and his son David.
