From Church Records: Sept. 10, 1858 - Appointment of Malcolm McMartin, attorney to dispose of land and premises of Thos. H. Drummond, heir of Janet Drummond, registered 1858 in Co. of Glengarry.

1858, March 9 - One hundred pounds to be paid for a tract of land for St. Andrews congregation in Martintown. Malcolm McMartin - Duncan McDiarmid.: Know all men by these precsents (sp) that I Malcolm McMartin of the township of Charlottenburgh in the County of Glengarry and Province of Canada Yoeman am held and firmly bound unto Duncan Mc Diarmid of the Indian Reservation in the said Township Geaman (sp) one of the proprietors in trust for the Cngregation of Saint Andrews in Martintown Church in connection with the Kirk of Scotland of a certain parcel or tract of land granted and sold for the use of the Congregation under a certain Indenture of bargain and sale hearing date the ninth day of March One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Eight by Thomas Hepburn Drummond represented by his Attorney Malcolm McMartin aforsaid in the sum of One Hundred Pounds - Lawful money of Canada - Which sum will and truly to be paid to the said Duncan Mc Diarmid or his successors - I bind myself my heirs excecutors and administrators firmly by these presents sealed with my seal and a dated this ninth day of March One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Eight. ?ow the condition of the above bond is such that of the said Malcolm McMartin his heirs excutors ad is said indenture named us one of the proprutors in trust in full possession of said piece of land and premises - so sold by the said Induture ? ??? before the tenth day of May next ensuing the date here of - and shall and do put off of tenant or residing thereon by the time specified above - these the ????? to be null and void or otherwise to ??? in full force and offered.. signed sealed and delivered in presence of ????
