Note: President of the Council, Lt Gov, NY, acting Gov of NY. Peter represented Borough of Westchester in Assembly, 1750-68. The following can not be right - he died in 1770 ( "Peter of the Mills". Lt Col, batallion commander, under his uncle, Oliver, Sr. His corps were known as "Cowboys", for the cattle rustling. He raised and commanded an elite troop of "Light Horse". 1777, he was captured by Putnam's troops, jailed at Hartford. 1781, he was at Morrisania, and an attempt to capture him failed. In 1783, he retired to Nova Scotia. Member of the Council, Nova Scotia, 1794. Tory.)
