"As long as we live, Magyar speaking peoples, our soul shall not be crushed, wherever on this Earth we are born, be our Destiny Blessed or full of pain!" This is the truth which you cannot find in Romanian history books: The Romanians don't even have their own name for Transylvania. Both the words "Ardeal" and "Transilvania" are borrowed from the Hungarians. |

Traditional Romanian chauvinism and xenophobia have compelled hundreds of thousands of Germans, Jews, and Hungarians to leave their homeland, bringing about a sharp drop in the percentage of German, Jewish, and Hungarian minorities to the Romanian majority. Such turn of events would be to the liking of Ion Antonescu, whose spirit seems to roam Romania's political establishment these days. Indeed, the fascist dictator and "Marshal" has been rehabilitated by Romanian Parliament; streets in Romanian towns have recently been renamed after him. With his statue erected in Slobozia, it was for the first time in post-war history that a war criminal and mass murderer should have been honored with a monument in a "democracy". This happened October 22, 1993. with the assistance of Romanian government officials and members of parliament.
The following pages have been designed to educate and enlighten the public of the reality of recent Romanian History, and the plight of the Hungarian Minority in their own Homeland Transylvania. The Pages on this site are based on undeniable facts and the truth concerning the Magyars of Transylvania and Moldva. |
Fascism and Chauvinism are on the rise in todays Romania, and every effort must be made to put a halt to it. Hungarians in Transylvania could share the same fate as did the Albanians of Kosova, the Bosnians of former Yugoslavia and other oppressed minorities in the world have done, if no action is taken now against an orchestrated effort by Romanian Fascists to eradicate Magyar Culture in Transylvania. |
