Classes and Times
Tuesday Night
5:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Under 8 only (5, 6 and 7 year old class)
A class for the younger student, taught by Mr. Troxell. This class teaches practical self defense for the age group and traditional Karate. Each class has a period of FUN! Which could be game or craft related. There are additional levels in the belt ranks, so each younger child will be able to promote with less requirements per rank.
Tuesday Night
Karate-Do and Tournament Techniques
6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Youth and Adult mixed
This class is taught by Shihan Troxell, and will vary from tournament to street techniques and how they can be used or adapted for the ring.
Tuesday Night
Karate Jutsu
7:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Adults only (currently this class is in hiatus)
This class is also taught by Shihan Troxell, assisted by Mr. Scott Sparks, (Sho Dan - Ju Jitsu) and teaches street techniques. These techniques will range from Karate to Ju-Jitsu to whatever works!
The Tuesday night classes will have a guest instructor once a month. The guest instructor may be a Black Belt from another school, or even the local High School Wrestling coach.
Wednesday Night
Women's Self Defense and Techniques Class
By request
This class is taught by Mr. Troxell and Mr. Sparks. It is a Street Realistic approach to self defense for ladies. This class is for ages 13 and up. No uniforms, just comfortable regular clothing or workout clothing. This is not a Karate class, although it may use Karate techniques. It is designed to teach not only self defense, but self awareness.
Thursday Night
Beginners Class
5:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Youth and Adult mixed
This class is taught by Mr. Dudley Hellard. The six week rotating curriculum is designed to introduce the new student to the Art of Karate. By the end of the six weeks, the new student will be ready to integrate into the advanced classes. No Uniform is required for this introductory class.
Thursday Night
Promotion and Tournament Preparation Classes
6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Youth and Adult Mixed
These classes are taught by Mr. Hellard. These classes are designed to help the students of lower ranks get ready for promotions and tournaments. Sensei Troxell is also on hand for the Assistant Instructors to answer questions or to help as needed.
