STEPPING STONES

The steppingstone on the left was a joint effort by hubby and myself. We used a cake pan lined with Saran wrap for a mold, laid the pieces of glass in the bottom of the pan, poured the cement in and waited for a couple hours, tipped it out of the pan and there you have it! I've heard since, that if you spray the pan with cooking spray first, you won't need to use the Saran wrap....I'm gonna have to try that one!

The steeping stone on the right was a pre-made one that I painted on. I made my own stencil for the stones by cutting shapes out of contact paper and used a stamp for the turtle and twig. Then I sealed it with about 7 coats of varnish. I later found out to avoid a milky look after it has been outside for awhile...that the stone should have been sealed on sides and bottom as well as the top. Oh well...I guess some things are trial and error! haha!
