Back to Nature

The objects you find here are made from wood, stone, cement, etc.

The wooden basket that hangs on a wall was made by my hubby after looking at a picture my friend Adele sent to us. There was no pattern, so we made our own in the dimensions we wanted. It's made of cedar so it can be hung outside on a fence.

The ladybug is just a river rock that I painted and varnished.

The gazing ball is flat, glass.marbles glued to a globe for a porch light with E6000. I didn't use grout, because it looks clear where the globe shows and it's a very nice effect. The base is a metal bucket that I painted dark green, then added gold leaf. It was a fun project and I really want to try another, but put a light in the bucket to make the ball glow.

The toad house I made for my son. It was painted and sealed, then I added the signs, "Toad Hall" and "Hop on Inn". The hard part was cutting the hole for the doorway. It took me 2 drill bits and 2 grinding stones to get it the way I wanted it! My poor Dremel Tool was tired when it was finished!

I like to send these to friends in the Spring instead of greeting cards. They are seeds with greetings on the packets...so they may be planted and enjoyed by my friends all summer long. I hope they will think of me as they watch their flowers grow. I love to use Sweet Williams and Forget-Me-Nots for this project.

Ceramic Pan. I painted this with paint that has sand in it so it looks like stone, you can't tell in this pic though.

I made this from a Christmas ornament and a dime store vase.

I made this with a clay pot that I painted black first, then used colored embossing powder to give the illusion of mosaic.

I grew these gourds, dried them and then decorated them the next year. They were left natural and varnished.

I made this from cypress wood and other goodies I found and bought on vacation the year I met my pal June. I finally put them together and made this for the toilet tank .

Bowling ball on a pipestand.

I found a rock that looked like a house...so I painted it for my yard.
