CLAYPOT CRAFTS

I made this candy dish using a clay pot and saucer and some wooden balls. I glazed the inside with blue enamelware glaze and fired in my kiln so it is food safe. I painted the pot, saucer, and balls with navy blue acrylic and then added dragongflies and flowers. There is also a dragonfly on the knob on top, but I couldn't get a good picture. The knobs are also painted with a white pearl over top the navy. Added a silver painted band at the lid and there you have my candy dish.

Claypot Angel

Glue wooden ball to clay pot..let dry...paint entire thing white...then paint head flesh and sponge blue onto the pot until you get desired effect. Paint wooded wings off white and add painted squares for patches...use a black gel pen or a paint brush to add stitches around patches.Use gel pen or paint brush to add stirching around wings on front and back. Hot glue wings to pot just below the head...make sure your wings are not too long.Paint on face and glue painted wood heart...paint on dot buttons using the end of a paint brush.Glue spanish moss on for hair with hot glue.Paint words "Sisters are real angels" around the bottom of pot and spray seal. Add ribbon around neck.

I made these with small clay pots using wooden beads for the heads. Their hats are the fingertips of a glove and the scarves are tiny pieces of the same glove. I added wings to make them snowangels.
