About Me
My name is Cindy Cilker and I am a horse crazy teen who uses this hobby for pleasure and profit! I graduated from high school with the Class of 2002 and currently attend UC Davis, where I am a Studio Art Major, Equine Minor, and probably Spanish Minor, and plan on also taking agriculture and business classes - I still have no idea what I want to do! Going to college has pretty much put model horses on hold, though I continue to make and sell mini tack on Ebay. I also horseback ride every oportunity I get, but haven't ridden much lately because I didn't get to being the horse I leased for the past 3 years (Click see pictures us here) with me. Buying a horse is also an option, but I want to study abroad in Spain junior year, so they may conflict...I also want to intern at the foal barns! Life is just full of possibilities, so we'll see what actually happens! Anyway, the point is, customizing has been dormant lately, so you probably won't be seeing too many updates.
Moving on to history: I have been seriously involved in the model horse hobby since 1996, when I got my first Just About Horses magazine. Soonafter, I discovered model horses on the internet and it took off from there! The model horse world has been the perfect blend for my love of equines and art. I have loved horses for as long as I can remember, but since my parents wouldn't buy me a real one I had to settle for lessons and the plastic kind. It started first with My Little Ponies, then Barbie Horses, and ultimately Breyers. Now I have about 200 models and attend Open live shows whenever I can. I have been to the North American Nationals in 2000 and will be attending in 2002. As a hobbyist I have tried every aspect of the model horse world and found that I like customizing and tackmaking best, along with live showing my creations.
I have been making my own tack ever since I got disgusted with Barbie and Breyer tack, progressing from making my own patterns to using the Rio Rondo kits. In one of the JAH magazines I saw a picture of a Stablemate in tack and couldn't believe my eyes at how tiny it was! I decided to make it my goal to perfect Stablemate tack, since the traditional sized tack had already been perfected. So since 1999 I have been making and selling Stablemate tack as The Mini Tack Girl.
The most important thing in my life, however, is my faith! I am a Christian and involved in Campus Crusade for Christ at college and the summer of 2003 went on a summer project to Daytona Beach. It was awesome and I'd suggest it to any college student. If you want to know why God is the most important part of my life, or have any questions, email me!
So that's all you need to know about me and a little bit more! Thank you for visiting, please look around, and enjoy your stay!
Thank you so much for being visitor number:
If you're wondering why I have "luvbun" in the address for this page, that's my Fortunecity account name because this account was originally for my rabbits website, and one of my bunnies is named Lovalot, which got twisted into luvbun...so there you go!
