Chaos Chronicles
Chapter2-Another one
Wearing only her black sleeves top and brown pants Lunxis stalked down the stairs and brisket by Aramina who was extremely pleased to see her up and quickly made it known.
"You’re all right! That’s great!" She exclaimed with enough enthusiasm to stop Lunxis dead in her tracks, her mission of seek, destroy, root through remains and retrieve, was momentarily forgotten. She turned to give Aramina a measuring look.
"It is?" She asked, almost hesitantly. When was the last time some one had been please by my good health, had it ever happened before?
"Yup, no need for a healer and you can tell me why everyone is freaked out about you." Aramina smiled brightly at her.
"Way to avoid the subject Aramina." Ajala muttered to her self while glaring at the chirpy felidae from her position down the bar counter.
"Don't we look pleased today." Came a voice from behind her, one she knew all too well.
"What do *you* want?" Ajala growled without turning around.
"Hello to you too." Came the amused reply.
Ajala smacked the cup she had been cleaning down and whirled around to give him a piece of her mind but was greeted with a odd sight, he had a badly wounded female felidae leaning heavily on his metallic shoulder. She had long, tangled silver hair that had a slight curl to it; her jade eye's were unfocused and tired, her deep brown fur dirty. She wore a beige one piece with green trim over a tunic and pants, also on her were armbands. One reached her elbow while the other was oddly shorter; has if it had been ripped.
"I found her not for from here. She's a real mess plus she has a high fever, Odin said to take her here for better assistance." He told her as he set the semi couscous felidae down on a nearby seat. His one good eye, green in colour watched her while his bionic one flashed red has it scanned her again, she was getting worst. He shifted his weight pulling the green cape to better cover his metallic arms. He had a black tank top on and brown loose pants that tucked into his heavy metal boots which were black in colour. Despite the stares, Raay refused to hide his face, which was partly covered in metal. He was proud of his difference but sometimes it got him into so much trouble...
"Great, *another* one." Ajala threw her hands up in disgust, and startled him out of his thoughts.
"Huh?" The larger felidae swung his metal tail around as he gave her a good what-the-hell-are-you-talking-about look.
"Hey Raay, whatcha doin here?" Aramina shouted from the other side of the room, just spotting him now but some how missing the semi conscious felidae who was now vainly trying to cover her abused ears. Lunxis however didn't seen to notice anyone but her.
Something wasn't right with that felidae she didn’t seem dangerous, hell she was ready to fall off her seat any second. But as odd as it seemed, Lunxis found she couldn't think of her mission. Lunxis frowned harder. Why the hell not? She didn't even know her. Quietly she walked with Ajala who was eager to speak with 'Raay' the other felidae. He had metal arms and various technological advancements on his body, and dark clothing. Lunxis frowned at this but said nothing. Instead she tried to steady the smaller felidae who was still hearing Ajalas voice merrily destroying her sensitive hearing. Lunxis frowned again. The felidae was sick. Her fur was burning up and she was beginning to pant for air. Close as she was to her now Lunxis could clearly smell the blood on her. She was badly wounded.
"Aramina you said a healer was coming?" Lunxis asked the hyped felidae, wondering why the hell she felt so obliged to help the wounded felidae she certainly didn't know her and Lunxis rarely helped strangers, she had learned the penalty of caring for others without a reason.
"Yeah, he should be here soon." Aramina's voice held worry as she took in the sorry state of the other felidae.
"Who is that?" Raay asked Ajala, as he looked Lunxis over. She had I-Am-Suspicious written all over her.
"I'd tell you be she might try to kill me." Was Ajala's reply before she turned back to her bartending duties.
"Wha?" Raay frowned at her but she merely ignored him.
"Raay, help us get her up stairs before she passes out!" Aramina urged him hurriedly. With a sigh he turned to assist the struggling Felidaes.
Lunxis frowned again has she leaned against the wall beside the door to the room where the healer was looking over the sick felidae. Why was she so worried? First and foremost she didn't know the felidae. Second she didn't go around helping any wounded character that had something strange about her. And the fact that she had something strange with her should have kept Lunxis *away* not drawn her.
"Lass?" A deep voice brought her out of her thoughts she turned her head slightly to see Maillion looking at her with worry and winced.
"Err…Maillion…I'm sorry about earlier, it's just I'm well. Not used to others knowing me when I don't recognize them and, well, I'm sorry." Lunxis kept her eyes at her feet the pink embarrassed hue floating in her eyes for the second time that day. Even to her the apology was lame but a deep chuckle surprised her out of embarrassment.
"Don't apologize lass, your pretty handy with a sword." He smiled at her warmly.
Lunxis stared at him a moment, two things running through her head: You are sooo familiar, and My Alquion!
"Err can you excuse me a moment." She asked causing him to chuckle as he stepped aside and made a sweeping gesture for her to pass. Lunxis couldn't help but flash him a pleased smile.
"Thank you." She called over her shoulder as she ran down stairs her mission renewed.
He watched her go silently unsure of how to handle this discovery. She had no previous memory of her life before the ensealment.
Raay chuckled as Aramina continued to beat the drunk.
"Get him offa me now!" She screamed at the top of her lungs, Raay snickered as Ajala rolled her eyes but let a small amused smile slip.
"Some brother and friend you two are! AHHHH! Stop trying ta’ grabbing me THERE" This caused Raay to fall out of his seat in a fit of laughter.
Lunxis made no comment has she walked up to them, her eyes scanning the tavern for any sight of her decided target.
"Hey Lunxis what are you looking for?" Ajala questioned as she handed a full tray to the newly freed Aramina and shooed her off.
"That Straken guy." She muttered as she took a seat beside Raay. She had searched high and low for him but come out empty handed.
"So you still after him?" Raay asked good naturally
Lunxis gave him a look over; he was the one from before. What was his name again?
Seeing the look of confusion in her eyes Ajala quickly gave introductions.
"So Lunxis, I heard you took Straken on? Not many would do that." Raay flashed her a cocky grin before taking a long drink.
Lunxis gave him a dark look but kept to her self still unsure if she should trust him, any of them for that matter. It was about then she saw Straken walk by. With a growl she leapt from her seat and dived at him. He caught her in midair by the scruff and let her dangle like a kip.
"Can I help you?" He asked her calmly, Lunxis attempted to kick him in the face.
"Let me go!" She snarled clawing his arm fiercely.
"Now why would I do such a stupid thing?" He asked giving her a sharp shake.
"If you’re still upset about early then--"
Lunxis cut him off.
"Give back my Alquion!"
Straken raised a single eyebrow before shaking his head.
"That’s what you’re so upset about? Well now it’s mine, a trophy if you will." He told her with easy grace still dangling the struggling felidae.
"Trophy! Trophy indeed, GIVE IT BACK!" Lunxis yelled full force and attempted to blast him, however before she could he casually threw her across the room.
Lunxis growled as her back burned, quickly she stood ready to fight weapon-less. Straken noticed this and unsheathed his own and raised it at her.
"You can't win, realize that Lunxis." He watched her carefully ready for her first attack, he knew her well enough to know she wouldn't accept defeat. So carefully watching her he didn't notice the one behind him.
She frowned at it, she knew better then to pass it off for a dream the ruless was locked in battle. Slowly she forced her eyes open and glanced around. She was in a small room with no guards, unbounded, the only other was a healer. His aura still bright she knew immediately that he had healed her. As to why was a whole different matter. A loud crash caught his attention but before he could rise to see what had happened his patient sped past him and out the door.
She moved quickly focusing, she moved soundlessly behind him knowing *she* was in front of him trying to fight despite her wounds.
Quickly she dived never making a sound, so she was surprised when he dodged her first move but quickly she gripped his should and began a series of kicks on him. Trying to force him away, away from *her*
Lunxis stared fairly surprised when the felidae attacked Straken from behind. It was the sick one. So still looked bad but attacked fiercely, leading him away from herself Lunxis realized with a start. This felidae despite her wounds, despite her sickness was desperately trying to protect her; she was risking her life for Lunxis.
"Leave her alone!" Lunxis screamed, power much stronger and deeper then her early attack burned around her. She narrowed her golden eyes witch now glowed with rage. Why the felidae was ready to forfeit her life for Lunxis did matter; no one had ever…cared enough to try such a thing, ever.
"I said…." Lunxis raised her arms over her head power gathering in a white-hot light.
"Leave …" the glow-intensified power flicked around every one; their own abilities reached out to gather in her palms. Even Straken and his attackers still locked in combat gave power to her, and only Straken seem to notice that the felidae he spared with has lost all colour in her eyes. Well, not all they were a colour, green. Just green and glowing deeply.
"…Her ALONE!" With an angry cry she let lose the rage ready to kill Straken to protect her mysterious protector.
Straken cursed has he dodged to the side so involved in getting out of the way her momentarily forgot the felidae he was fighting, but he quickly remembered her when she slashed his arm deeply with her claws. With another curse he grabbed her and threw her back breaking their fight and immediately noticed that the power died that the fact it had been passing through his opponent harmlessly.
Lunxis gasped for air as she sank to her knees the surge of power still strongly running threw her. How the hell? What the hell had happened? She looked up when she heard a low snarling the felidae was directly in front of her now, watching Straken with fierce green eyes, her tail swung back and forth cutting through the air. She slowly lowered her head into a more threatening position and again snarled.
"You will not touch her. I will protect the ruless."
With her words Lunxis was once again thrown into darkness.
As soon as Lunxis fell, Straken was forgotten with quick speed she managed to catch the felidae before she hit the floor. Worried hands checked the aura around her and winced when she saw how low it was. Steady but very low, so worried about the felidae she missed them crowding around her and when she did notice, she ignored them. Until that is one reacted for the ruless. Quickly she caught the hand and easily snapped the wrist.
With a curse the healer jumped back, holding his newly fractured wrist. He looked into those jade eyes and bit his lip. She had no intention of letting him touch her that was clear. RACHEL knelt next to him and watched the felidae intensely, her gaze reading the others protective one.
"We need to help her; she could die if we don't get her help." RACHEL stated calmly never once breaking her eyes from the jade ones.
"She just needs rest." The felidae whispered quietly breaking the eye contact with her to look down at the unconscious form of Lunxis.
"Well then lets let her rest in a bed perhaps?" RACHEL stated calmly has she slowly lifted the smaller felidae form the others protective grasp.
