SMS from Shanaz "Cat thrown out of flat because owners adopted a dog. Cat has been hanging outside the flat, meowing and waiting to be let in but was shoo-ed off each time. Cat has been poo-ing on the staircase and "downstairs" cats have been blamed. Town Council wanted to call pest control to eradicate all the cats! After explaining to an angry town council officer of the cause of the indiscriminate poo-ing, a week's grace was given to remove the abandoned."

After conversing on the phone, we decided to bring the cat to a foster-home to settle down and then try rehoming.

9.15pm

SMS from Shanaz "Finally trapped the cat."

9.30pm

Turning into the estate

Block where cat used to live

Quiet in the carrier on the backseat

9.50pm

Arrived at foster-home

10.15pm.

While driving home, I decided to call her BEAUTY.

A very beautiful cat indeed. Easily handled by Phyllis in the transfer from carrier to cage.

She is estimated to be about one year. No tip-ear. Will need to check for any sterilisation wound.

Very docile cat who deserves another chance and this time let it be a truly loving permanent home!

"I will never forget the kindness you have shown me by saving me from the streets when I was a little girl when my mother never came back after she went in search of food."

"I have been a good girl, doing my business in the box-toilet."

"I have learnt not to scatch the furniture."

"Every day I would sit by the window, waiting for you to come home and watching the birds on the railing of the common corridor."

"Last week you put me outside the door. I was excited and scared as I have never wandered out of the house before."

"You close the door. I was frightened. I meowed and in desperation, I scratched on the door. It remained shut."

"I am very scared. I sat by the door and waited. I was so happy when it finally opened. I wanted to run in...into my home...but why....why...did you kick me out?"

"I saw the puppy you brought home last week. I wanted to be his friend."

"What have I done wrong?"

"Please let me in....please...I am so frightened out here on the corridor..I don't where to pee and to poo..."

Still Awaiting Patiently

Beauty was adopted by Catherine in January 2005

Beauty is doing very well. I think she's happy.

She's walking on a leash now. And she recognises the direction back home. Took her for walks over the weekend, along the corridor etc, everywhere except grass areas (to avoid fleas & termites). She doesn't show resistant to the leash at all. Now when she sees me coming with the leash, she'll go to the door. The only thing she dislikes is the cleaning up after the walks. She absolutely hates & puts up a fight everytime. But its all worthwhile in exchange to get out & breathe some air, I think she'll agree with me.

She's becoming quite attached to me. Whenever I leave the room for more than say, 10 minutes, she'll come to look for me. She is very 'manja' these days. She is definitely a beautiful girl. Even my friends who are not cat lovers, find her gorgeous & sweet. She has won them over with her big big eyes & quiet disposition. She likes my brother & whenever he visits me, she'll sit still & let im take picture of her. No one else even I can get to to sit still for picture taking!

She has fans from all over.
