 A KISS IN THE MOONLIGHT
Luminescent beams
of light dance playfully
across the darkness.
They gloriously lend passion
to the night.
while igniting the soul.
Descending as fingertips
from Heaven, they gently caress
the face of an angel.
My heart is no longer mine,
it belongs to the night.
Now property of the angel
with the moon shining brightly
in her ambient blue eyes.
Her angelic soft lips
beckon passion to my senses.
Her eyes make circles
they consume me like wine.
The moonlight's magic has disabled my fears,
I can only think of her lips on mine,
together, sucking the night away.
Overcome with passion
my desire leads me to her.
Heaven is one kiss in the moonlight
with an angel of serenity.
 Ode to Laura
My Laura,
your eyes make waves
like the icy blue ocean
one glance,
and my senses drift away.
Your hair
appears woven like golden thread.
Glistening under the sun,
indeed a treasure to behold,
you chase away my poverty.
Your smile,
a warm ray of light
that thaws my frozen heart.
You're the summer's sun on a winter's day,
replacing gloomy gray canopies
with endless blue skies.
Your face,
my resurrection and lifeline,
it is the very blood that pulses
through my veins.
I look to it to nurture my child
as well as tame my beast.
Your love,
is the vessel in which I exist,
a pillar that shelters unconditionally.
I revel at its strength
and no longer fear its outcome.
 A Sparrow Grazing the Sun
For all of the days it would take
a sparrow in flight,
it's wings to graze the sun.
With each grazing pass
until polished like glass.
One grain at a time removed,
until only a spec remains.
For all of the days,
it would take a sparrow
to wear away the sun,
I shall love you even longer.
 Lady Day
Thy presence illuminates the darkness.
Swooning birds glee as though thou were the sun.
Thy passion leads haughty men to weakness,
Thy love, a raging battle to be won.
Oh lady Day, could thou ever love me?
Come ruin or rapture, my heart is thine.
Thy vision, it consumes my dreams with thee.
Our spirits unite where the eagle soars.
I covet thine eyes and welcome thy stare.
My soul is the canvas thy bright eyes fill.
Deep does this dagger of loneliness tear.
To gird love's armor is all that I will.
Without thee, even the day remains dark.
Thou ignite passion, my beautiful spark.
