Although I was born in Chicago's Austin neighborhood, and lived there most of my childhood, I actually lived first in Rogers Park, on the city's Far North Side. The photo to the right is a picture of me at about age 2-1/2, sitting on a Chicago Fire Department fire truck that visited my grandmother's block on Loyola Avenue for a block party.
