Car
The 1964 Buick Riviera, at least on the outside, was almost unchanged from its predecessor, the 1963 Riviera, the first model year for which the Riviera was produced. One significant difference, at least on the outside of the car, is that the Riviera nameplate is on the back of the '64, whereas the name "B-U-I-C-K" was on the rear of the '63. There were very few changes to the Riviera as it continued to sell well. There was some minor exterior changes, but the real excitement lay under the hood. There, the top 425 cid engine could be optioned with a second four-barrel carburetor, which provided an extra 20 bhp. Handling continued to be a sore spot, however, as its town weight took its toll in the curves. Production: 37,658
