Welcome!

Before I go into the purpose of this website, I would like to mention briefly how I came to love Dusty Springfield and her music. The morning after her induction into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame, which came after her heroic battle with breast cancer ended in her death in March 1999, CNN Headline News did a story on the 1999 Rock Hall inductees. When they started showing video of Dusty, I was blown away to say the least! Having been a fan of the legendary band Chicago since "Saturday In The Park" came out in 1972, I naturally got to asking "Who in the world was Dusty Springfield?" My answer came from former Chicago and Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band guitarist Dawayne Bailey, who is a Dusty fan. If you have seen the Chevrolet Truck commercial featuring the Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band's hit "Like A Rock", Dawayne is playing the acoustical guitar. I never met Dawayne despite seeing him perform many times with Chicago, but he and I have one thing in common: Dusty! I have been in love with Dusty and her music since I was exposed to it all in 1999.

Visit Dawayne Bailey's website and discussion forum.

The purpose of this website is to enable Dusty fans, as well as those who knew and worked with her, to express how they feel about Dusty and her music through essays, poetry, album reviews, commentary, drawings, paintings, computer generated artwork, and of course, music. This is your opportunity to create music in the style of Dusty, or showcase your own original music. All you have to do to participate is love Dusty Springfield and her music. The rest is up to you.

This is a volunteer effort, and posts to this site are totally free of charge.

There is also a discussion forum available on this site, and a links page is provided to enable you to visit all the great sites online devoted to Dusty Springfield. You are urged to visit them as well as this one.
