Site Policies
The following policies will be in effect for submissions made to this website, and are subject to change:
1. Work must not have any content that defames another person. If you disagree with someone, disagree with the opinion, not the person making it.
2. If you have a site with recorded music on it, you may link that site to this one. I am no longer accepting MP3s or other sound files of actual Dusty music. If you are a Dusty fan and have original music of your own in MP3 or any other format, please contact Larry Launstein, Jr. at cpc@usol.com so I can request permission from Fortunecity.com to post it. The music has to be music you created yourself.
3. In the case of drawings, paintings, photos and the like, you are being requested to submit original work (work that you have done yourself). It does not have to be 100% original, but about 75% original should be sufficient. You do not have to be a great artist to have something posted here, just be a Dusty fan.
4. Yes, there are personal use clauses in U.S. copyright law. Technically, you are able to copy files and use them for your own personal use (i.e. not selling them). However, the recording industry has won several lawsuits against companies (Napster, MP3.com, to name a couple) that were distributing pirated music online and then claiming "personal use" under the fair-use clauses in U.S. copyright law. Read item 2 for more details on policies for music files and this site. THERE IS NO SELLING OF ANY KIND ALLOWED ON THIS SITE OR ON THE DISCUSSION FORUM. If you have Dusty items you wish to sell, you may use my online classified ad service. If you are an organization wishing to auction items on the behalf of Dusty for causes she believed in or was involved in (i.e., breast cancer research), you may use my online auction service - provided by E-Page. All auctions are FREE, and commercial rates for selling items are set by E-Page.
5. Written work (poetry, essays, album reviews, commentary, etc.) should be your own work, with attributions to other sources as necessary. On the website "A Girl Called Dusty", there is a catalog of song lyrics, compiled by Fraser O'Brien and several others from Dustymail. Special thanks to Grant Whittingham for the site. Also on his site are several links to sites offer even more information to help you. There are now several books published about Dusty you can also refer to.
