His parents raised  seven children in a small traditional seaweed farm. The boy's life radically changed after he passed the traditional first symbiosis evalutation test. His outstanding results surprised everyone, including himself. Afraid that their "primitive" lifestyle could compromise their son's future, Yuzrad 's parents sent him to the continent where his grandparents lived. Not knowing what to do with the family genious and wanting the best for him, the grandparents locked him up in a boarding school. For his own good...</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>At the age of 18, he was still a very promising intiate and he had become an excellent student, especially good in biology. His childhood's freedom long forgotten and now used to strict discipline, Starfleet academy was a very logical choice for "Yuz".</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>To see a Trill initiate follow the symbiosis program AND join the Academy is not uncommon. Still, rare are the ones who fully succeed in both. But Yuzrad was. After fours years in the Academy and a Cadet cruise in a science department, he thought that being a science officer was great, but being a Captain would be even better so he went back to the Academy and attended Command School for two years.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>In the Academy, Cadet Ebten was described as a serious student with a high sense of responsibilities. However, some of his teachers doubted that he would ever be able to become a succesful commanding officer. He just missed "something"... Maybe some charisma, maybe some self confidence... For his friends he was a nice guy, not very talkative, but always ready to help. Maybe missing some sense of humor...</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Lieutenant Ebten started his career in 2370, as a science officer on the ship he did his cadet cruise on, USS Ajaccio. He was the CSO when the Dominion war began.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>The war was a dreadful experience for Yuzrad. His ship was destroyed and, soon after, was the ship who rescued him and what was left of the crew. He survived those disasters, suffering only from superficial wounds and his attitude earned him two promotions. </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>In 2374, as he was waiting for a new assignment, the Symbiosis Commission called him in. A joined Trill ingeneer, Yorjin Kaal, had been severely wounded, his symbiont needed a new host. Yuzrad Ebten became Yuzrad Kaal. And a very different man. The "little something" he missed until then to become a good commanding officer... was Kaal.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>After the war, Commander Yuzrad Kaal became the XO on a Nova Class ship.
