Erin, Most Wonderful Woman On Earth - 11/29/00
This was based off an outfit Erin had worn over Thanksgiving break that stuck in my mind for reasons unknown, and found its way into my sketchbook. It was my first really finished figure sketch, and I was quite pleased with it overall. I completely botched the feet, but that's the only really weak point of the drawing. I also still hadn't quite gotten the hang of pencil shading, which shows everywhere but her hair, where the shading didn't show up on the scan even though it was quite nice. Grr.
Eliot's Bishonen Self-Portrait - 12/1/00
This picture wasn't supposed to come out quite like this (it was meant as a companion piece for the Erin picture above), but it wound up being a lot less like me than I had hoped. I'm generally a lot less pleased with this one, except that the shading here is a lot better. The fact that I was still not used to folds shows here, which kind of ticks me off, too.
Random Shoujo - 12/6/00
This one was sort of an experimental sketch, just trying out what I thought might enhnace my drawing skills. Dunno if it worked or not, though. Originally this was going to be Celes from Final Fantasy VI, but about halfway through I abandoned that idea. Ignore the silhouette from the back - it came through stronger than it should have. ;>
Generic Sorceress - 1/9/01
This was the first drawing I ever fully inked, and I'm really pleased with how it came out. The hair, especially, looks just right, although I did screw up a little once or twice. Hey, I'm new at this, and bad at practicing. Her outfit is sort of a hybrid of Garnet's from Final Fantasy IX and Celes's on-screen outfit from Final Fantasy VI. It was going to be Celes, again...

The Mecha Mecca - ??/??/??
Though not as side-splittingly hillarious as Elaine's "Beer-Air" sketch, it's still a funny one. The context of this one, of course, is that I had just the night before informed Elaine of what the term "mecha" means, so she had to draw this. Yes, she knows how much 500 yen is in dollars. It was a typo.
Me Am Eliot - 12/7/00
Spontaneously deciding that she had to draw JJ, Joe, and I all in anime, Elaine sits down and does this sketch, which is actually the same sketch as you see in the upper left-hand corner of the pages now. It's pretty. This is the original, without distorted colors from saving in .gif format. (She abandoned the project at least temporarily, after she got so disgusted with her JJ sketch - which was a good sketch, actually - that she tore it out and wrote "Insert JJ here".)
asm95 Ice Cream Girl - 12/13/00
After listening to the song (conveniently titled "ASM95 Icecream Girl") on her MODplug, Elaine liked it so much that she decided to draw the ice cream girl. Not much else to say... if you'd like to listen to the tune itself, you can find it at Chiptunes.com. WinAmp should play it all right, and the link for that is in the Travel Center. Also note that she and Xellos appear to share the same eyes... ;>
Elaine And Steve - Escaflowne - 2/12/01
Elaine's first CG picture (colored by Photoshop, no less), this one is based off of a rather well-known Escaflowne pic (one of the many Van/Hitomi pics out there). She's a big proponent of redrawing existing art - she says it's a big boost to your own skill, and helps you learn about how to draw characters without experimenting and failing. I'm thinking of trying it myself, especially considering how out-of-practice I am. The lyrics at the bottom of the picture come from a Johnny Mathis song, but don't sound very out-of-place for Escaflowne.
Assuming you realize how amazing her work is, Elaine will probably not hurt me if you mail here here. Or maybe she will anyways. ;>
