Welcome to Electronic Transcendence Productions - the website devoted (or at least vaguely comitted) to providing at least some minimum level of intellect and quality of Internet material. Will it transform the web into an intellectual's paradise, like people used to dream about before the creation of things like AOL and ICQ and Yahoo? No, sorry. But at least for a couple minutes, you can sink back into something like that.
First of all, credit where credit's due: This page was hand-crafted by Eliot Lefebvre, AKA Stormcloud, Enigma, Q!, and Lost Factor. Spiffy Electronic Transcendence logo, the control bar on the lefthand side, and a few other pieces of art were also hand-crafted by Eliot Lefebvre. The little monsters that grace this page are taken from RPG Maker 2000 by ASCII Co., and are further taken from the RM 2000 page with no permission whatsoever. (Kudos!) Multiple copyrights are played with loosely on this page, so remember at all times: copyright violations are ALL done with the utmost respect to the original authors and are moreover not done as a challenge to that copyright. (Then again, who'd want to sue me for this flaccid piece of... you know.) Any extra authors on the page are credited where their work appears (don't feel like shuffling pages right now).
If you're looking for...
- Transformers fanfics: All TF fanfics are stored with all the rest of the fiction, inside the appropriately titled Fiction Vault.
- RPG Materials: All of what was once found on Games: Absolution, as well as any subsequent material, requires a trip to the RPG Archive, and is subsequently under the Pen & Paper section.
- RPG Making: The requisite programs for making your own CRPGs is found in The Stockpile, under (unsurprisingly) RPG Making. Additional tilesets and such are found under the RPG Archive - again, under RPG Making.
- Battletech: All of the designs (as well as a couple new ones, mostly Clan) are all found under the RPG Archive Miniatures section.
- Transformer humor: Again, this is found with all of the other humor, inside The Q! Café.
- Tech Specs: Select tech specs from the Tech Spec Arena have been posted inside the Fractyl Depot, under Misc. Junk. The submission form is gone, dead, fini, may it rest in peace and let my mailbox cease being flooded by vapid submissions of disgustingly pointless characters. (Bitter? No, why do you ask?)
- Anything Else: Check around. It's probably located in a logical section - and even if not, you might find better stuff in the process.
This should technically go under the ET FAQ, but since it's worth knowing right off the bat...
"Home" is right here. No mystery there. (Not everything is a dark shifting labyrinth of conspiracy, Mr. Mulder.)
"Updates" lists all of the updates to the pages chronologically. For completeness, I also keep on some backlog of updates, and also include the things I expect to do in the near future with Electronic Transcendence Productions. Like you care.
"ET FAQ" is just that - a sort of mini-FAQ explaining this page, myself, the mascots, and even some of the in-jokes drifting around here. It's relatively easier than shuffling through every single page, and simplicity is supposed to be the goal of computers, after all. (Or was that the perpetuation of chat rooms with "age/sex check" every minute? Let's hope not.)
"Fiction Vault" is where I store the writings that are obvious fiction - little more than figments of my imagination. (The standard argument that by Bhuddism, everything is a figment of my imagination is notwithstanding right now.) This runs the gamut, although I do tend to focus on writing certain things (call me a stickler for formula). Unlike the previous section, this will theoretically continuously be expanding - I'm almost ALWAYS writing something.
"The Q! Café" is dedicated to absurdity - to the ludicrous, the insane, and the just plain hilarious. Serious-looking guy to the left notwithstanding, this section posts things that aren't really fictitious, just funny. There is also a definite focus on tasteful humor, to boot, which is not something you see on the web nearly enough. We aren't above a couple low blows, but the world does not need another list of dirty jokes. (People remember those pretty easily anyhow.)
"RPG Archive" is a side-effect of the fact the Electronic Transcendence doesn't use the multi-page structure of Alias. The material I have drawn up for various RPGs doesn't fit anywhere else, so it remains something of its own section. I play a lot of RPGs, so this isn't a piddling section, either.
"The Stockpile" is the break in the solid text of this page. You will note that we do not have a picture archive or anything of the sort - Electronic Transcendence is largely devoted to providing cold, hard text. "The Stockpile" breaks that mold, and contains programs or multimedia that could be considered either A) cool, B) useful, or C) really, really funny. It also contains a couple nice downloads for this page (such as the GoPA font).
"Fractyl Depot", for starters, sounds really durn cool. Say it a few times. You'll soon realize it means nothing, but it will still sound cool. As for what it does, it houses text that fits nowhere else... well, not really well, anyways. This can boil down to the simple essays and poems, or it can be something else entirely.
"Travel Center" is the cure for browsing this page for about 15 minutes and looking like Broken over there. Really. It sends you whizzing across the web towards other pages that I feel hold something worthwhile, or failing that, something vaguely entertaining. There is a lot of stuff here, so you might want to check it out, especially when considering the fact that most of the other sites seem to be a darn sight more competent than this one.
Hydrus (fairly obvious on this page) has signed a contract that gives him one more slavering head for each person that subjects themselves to this page, or has subjected themselves in the past. To date, Hydrus has
heads on his body.
You don't even care, do you?
