Favorite Music: I'm a big fan of Barenaked Ladies (from before they released "One Week", FYI) and, thanks to Zac, Live. Matchbox Twenty and Third Eye Blind both had me sold on the first album, but the second for each sort of changes things. MT still has a very good sound, just very different... but 3EB's sophomore album didn't impress me much. Sarah McLachlan is incredible, and I've noticed a lot of her sound starting to creep into other music. I'm really starting to enjoy Dido. Eve6 is enjoyable, albeit sometimes in limited quantities, and Vertical Horizon makes some of the best music around today. To varying degrees, I also take in Tonic, REM, the Beatles, Blues Traveller, Collective Soul, Yes, Edwin McCain, Celine Dion, Dave Matthews Band, Creed, Red Hot Chilipeppers, Sheryl Crow, Counting Crows, Three Doors Down, and varying other groups (a big one is currently slipping my mind). Oh yes, and J-Pop is always fun. (Mad Machine... mmm...)

Favorite Authors: As anyone from my AP English classes last year will attest, Kurt Vonnegut is likened to a deity. (Something he probably wouldn't be too pleased with.) A working knowledge of Vonnegut's work is almost necessary to catch all my references. Or not. Tad Williams absolutely enraptures me with his writing - it's the best fantasy material I've seen since Tolkien. Of course, every contempary fantasy/sci-fi fan is familiar with Tolkien, so I won't club that point to death. David Brin has incredible writing skill (read, not watch, The Postman, and you will like it), and Jeff Grub constantly surprises me. Chris Claremont... well, again, I won't club a point to death. Of course, I find lots of individual works I enjoy outside of authorial context...

Favorite Video Games: The Final Fantasy series is one of my favorite series of all time, bar none. It reached its absolute peak with Final Fantasy VI, which is one of the major pieces of work I use to define RPGs. Of course, they're still good games, and Final Fantasy Tactics was godlike. After FF6 would be Xenogears, probably the greatest RPG on the Playstation until Square released Final Fantasy Anthologies. I play lots of RPGs on the Playstation, and generally speaking, like most of them. Metal Gear Solid is also incredible, despite not being an RPG. In all honesty, nearly every game I own is up there on my list of enjoyment...

Hobbies: I write. This page is living proof of that. I write fiction, I write essays, I write reports - but whatever the stipulation, let it be known that I write. A lot. I've also recently begun to heavily get into art, trying very hard to get some decent anime artwork completed. It's not great, but it is decent and getting better every day. I program, but only as an ends to a means. I play lots of video games. Of course, the big hobby (if you could call it that) of my life is Erin, the love of my life. I can't say how much I love her, and I won't bore non-Erin people by trying. I also read when I get the chance, of course. As a proud member of the UCJAS, I am a devoted otaku and watch plenty of anime, and play plenty of RPGs and strategy games with the Gamer's Guild (also on-campus). I lift weights, too, although it's not so much as a hobby as a means to an end. To top everything off, I enjoy dancing, singing, and making fun of really bad films.

Favorite Series: On conventional Western television, X-Files, Star Trek, Transformers, and the earlier (non-SFC) Sliders. For anime, Slayers, Ranma 1/2, Bubblegum Crisis, Sailor Moon, Ronin Warriors, and the fun but confusing Serial Experiments Lain. For games, Final Fantasy, Mega Man, Metal Gear, most things Squaresoft or Enix, and Capcom's Vs series. There's lots of other stuff, of course, but that's the gist of it for the moment.
