[Totally Useless Vacation Log - Day 1] -> Arrived after four hour ride which consisted largely of Noelle asking Jessy to look at the directions, Jessy looking at the directions, Noelle becoming convinced she's going the wrong way, Noelle screaming at me to look at the map, me saying that I recognized the road and we were going the right way, Noelle screaming at me again, this time to hand the map to Jessy, Noelle and Jessy checking the map (while the vehicle is in motion, mind you) and coming to the exact same conclusion I had come to without the aid of the map, Noelle telling me to duck down because she couldn't see and had to make a turn or just screaming for me to put my head down like the fate of the free world depended on it, and interspersed by listening to some cruddy Book on Tape that was written by the same guy who wrote "The Bridges of Madison County" and which nobody but Noelle is interested in. Fun, fun, fun. -> We got a tour of the house. Noelle was amazed. Jessy was amazed. I got past being amazed pretty quickly, and it settled into mild bemusement. -> Then, we got a tour of the guest house. Nice place. Wish that I could be staying THERE. -> Got room set up. That consisted of tossing my good clothes which I will wear to the theatre in the closet, bringing up my backpack and dropping it on the chair, making my bed, setting up the computer, and then getting assaulted by a quick barrage of questions from Noelle and Cory at once, which I responded to by feigning absolute befuddlement. (It wasn't hard.) -> Started this log. Had to plug computer in, because this could take a while. Time: 11:09. By my watch, anyhow. -> Had fun untangling Noelle's square-knot method of wrapping up the computer cord. Power was down a little - that's okay. It'll charge back up. 11:10. -> 11:11. Tried to figure out exactly what I'm going to do at this point. Also tried to remember why, exactly, I had agreed to go on this trip in the first place, considering I got enough of this sort of thing on the Vineyard. Then again, the house was never this nice. Maybe that's why. Who knows. -> 11:12. Decided to stop noting the time in the log, since half the time I'll probably forget, anyways. -> 11:13. Revoke previous decision. -> 11:19. Had brief discussion with Noelle, during which she decided to make use of the wire hangers already present in my closet to hang up some of my clothes. Since my closet is situated below a sloping portion of the ceiling, I have to squat to reach it. I hit my head. I'm about to bring this thing down to the porch. -> 11:21. Raised blinds. I've got a nice view here. Cool. The shadow of the house currently makes a portion of the lawn look MUCH greener than the rest, so it looks like somebody cut out the lawn in the shape of the house and killed the rest of the grass. -> 11:24. No sign of enemy activity. All is quiet on the northern front. Ha. I always wanted to say that. -> 11:25. Remember cool dream I had last night about a big premiere party for the opening of a Beast Wars movie, with all sorts of TF-related activities going on. That would be neat. Probably won't happen, but it would be neat. -> 11:28. Stole a peek at Jessy's mag about the X-Files movie. Kinda neat. I really should figure out something else to do. -> 11:30. Decide to fire up NESticle and play some game or another. -> 11:32. The frigging computer crashed. It always seems to do that the first time I fire up NESticle. The girls are all going downtown, and I'm not invited. Damn. -> 11:33. Going to try NESticle a second time. -> 11:39. Played Dig Dug II for a few minutes. Noelle found some outlets downstairs on the porch. I'd rather work down there than up here. I have to stand here. Going down. -> 11:47. Apparently, it's in the dining room, not the porch. Ah, well. Still has a nice view. Noelle offered me half a carrot muffin. I accepted. Man, that thing was GOOD. I wonder where she got it. Might make me decide to actually eat breakfast. -> 11:49. Decide to go for broke and try NESticle again. I'm expecting a crash. Wish me luck. -> 11:50. No crash. WOOHOO!!! -> 12:08. Apparently, it ISN'T the shadow of the house that's making that portion of the lawn look green, they just laid it in a few days ago. Oops. -> 12:12. Just got invited to walk downtown with Noelle and Cory. Cool. But I'll need Noelle to pay the $10 she owes me. I don't seem to be making so many packed-together log entries. Time flies when you're playing Tetris. -> 12:18. Death. 83 lines, level 8. Dang it. And here I thought I was getting better. -> 12:30. Death again. Level 9. Getting better, apparently. -> 12:32. Shut down NESticle. Noelle and Cory are back from the bank. Means we're heading out. -> 1:17. We're back. Went to a whole bunch of stores, at Noelle's request. We then enjoyed the Noelle shopping method - browsing through endless reams of knicknacks and smiling and nodding approvingly when she asks us if we think it's neat, regardless of our actual thoughts. I stopped in a neat little store - the Mayflower. It had some neat stuff, but I didn't buy anything because the only thing I would have wanted was comics, and Jessy already bought the ones I want to read, so I can save my money, and the latest issue of GamePro, which I've more or less stopped reading. Stopped by a nature store, too. It had some interesting stuff in it, including a sign that I liked which said "Beware of attack turtle". Didn't buy it, though. On our way home, it started raining, so we got to enjoy a mad dash home. Since the house is up on a bluff, that does nothing to improve the weather. Left with $23, returned with $23. The best savings exercise I ever went through. -> 1:22. Plan on firing up NESticle again. Planning on a crash. -> 1:23. No crash. Interesting. Maybe it's a new trend of this computer - it likes being around Cory & George again. Cory just offered me a sandwich. I declined. I'm a little hungry, but I'll live. -> 1:25. Remind myself how thankful I am that this is a laptop and it is unaffected by whether or not the power decides to go out. -> 1:34. Accidentally reset my game of Kirby's Adventure. D'OH! -> 2:03. Bored with Kirby now. Think I'll try something else. -> 2:32. Bored universally. Think I'll go upstairs for a few minutes. -> 2:49. STILL bored universally. Would actually like to just recline in my room, but George is busy in the room between me and the staircase up to my room, and Aja would probably have a coronary if I walked through her room. God forbid that *I* might disturb the mess in there. I fail to see what part of her life is so incredibly important that I am to avoid that room like the plague. I concede, though, because I'll be here for a week and I'll have to live with her for that week. Guess I'll work on the script for TFTM. -> 3:10. Get in a completely irrelevant discussion with Cory, George, and Noelle. According to George, Tenesse is the Volunteer State. (I thought that was Vermont.) -> 3:32. Cory and Noelle are heading for a walk down to the beach. I've had to listen to Jessy and Pamela sing the "Garfield" song. Woohoo. -> 4:00. George decided to go for a bike ride, so I managed to get through to my room. Then I remembered why I didn't stay up there - it's boring. Ah, well. Not so universally bored anymore. I think my watch is wrong. I'm going to go find another clock and check. -> 5:18. Apparently, my watch magically reset itself on me. Which means that from some point on, all of my times were wrong. Ah, well, it doesn't matter. I'm going to fire up NESticle. At this point, I don't know whether or not to expect a crash. -> 5:20. No crash. Great. This is a new pattern. Hopefully, this pattern will maintain itself when I get home. (Dare I hope?) -> 6:13. Beat Robin Hood. Going to go watch Hercules. (Probably will take thirty seconds.) -> 8:38. Sat down to watch Hercules (wasn't as bad as I'd expected, really), and then me and George went down to a) rent a movie, b) buy some wine, and c) get some tomatoes. We wound up renting Dear God and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I remember seeing Dear God with Rhiannon. Ah, those were the days. No, wait, this is my relationship with Rhiannon we're talking about. *That* was the *day*. Aja tried to iritate me. It didn't work. Then she accidentally poked me in the eye. Convinced that I was going to come after them with a rusty knife or something, they ran upstairs. Don't ask me. Anyhow, then we all sat down for dinner. I fail to see why Aja is still being so unprovokedly nasty towards me at the moment. Ah, well. I can live with it. Good dinner. Turkey burgers, potato salad, and pickles. Mmm. -> 9:15. Cory interrupted me in the middle of 8:38's log entry and asked me to come along to pick up the girls (who had gone walking downtown) and to see the lighthouse. We somehow wound up walking along the beach. Cory thought we should go back, because she was worried that Noelle's hip wouldn't fare well on the sand, so I had to dash back to where Noelle was, then dash forward to where Cory was to relay the message that Noelle was fine. All the while, the person who was having the most trouble with the sand was me, who kept sliding as I ran so that I wound up running and waddling at the same time. After that, I dashed towards Noelle and Cory, who were both back towards the stairs, cried "The British are coming!", and collapsed in the sand. Moronic? Yes. Funny? Also yes. I then proceeded to tell Cory that this would be going into the log. She'll probably never read this. Her loss. -> 9:25. Reviewed log. Decided to go downstairs, to watch a movie if I'm lucky, to get a drink regardless. -> 9:28. Got a drink. The girls are watching Buffy. I invited myself to join them. I never actually watched that thing all the way through. I told Cory I was logging this. She didn't think it was worth logging. I just gave her a blank stare. If it was Jeff, I think I might have given him the finger. Then again, I work for Jeff, so probably not. Funny to think about, though. I should head down. I don't want to miss the movie. -> 9:32. Noelle came up. I took off my shoes. The shades are now closed. We talked for a couple minutes. I realized I had forgotten to log that I had noticed the chandelier. Ah, well. Going downstairs. -> 10:58. Finished with Buffy. Now I can say that I watched it all the way through. Nice and campy. Fun, in a strange sort of way. Wound up thinking about Karen. Hmph. Damn. Only drank one glass of juice. Considering my normal record, that's an all-time low. Listening to the girls' version of witty banter was the downside of the movie. On the other hand, it helped put me to sleep. Have to go to bathroom. Make last entry when I return. -> 11:04. Closing time - you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. Love that song. Anyways, I'm tired. I want Rhiannon back. I want Hillary back. Heck, I even want Kelly back. I also want two mil and a BMW like George drives. I need to get some rest. Wake up tomorrow morning. I shoulda worked on Other Side of Reality, shoulda done more work on TFTM, shoulda worked on Matt's campaign. Maybe I shoulda just stayed home. Maybe. Goodnight. End day one. [Totally Useless Vacation Log - Day 2] -> 7:48. Awaken. Had some really weird (but neat) dreams. Wind is whistling like crazy outside yonder window. I'm still yawning, which is a bad sign, but not unexpected. Will probably have to make bed. Still kind of tired. Maybe I should go back to sleep. -> 7:50. NESticle did not crash. This is an interesting development. -> 8:43. Got shot down for the last time in Stealth ATF. Finally figured out how to keep from dying all the time in that. If I hadn't screwed up my first landing... ah, well. No biggie. Think I'll move the computer over to my bed. -> 8:45. This computer seems to have some odd standards regarding power drain. Sometimes, I'll turn it on after it hasn't been used, and it'll show a small, but signifigant, power drain. Other times, like just now, I'll unplug it and move it while keeping it on, and it won't show any drain at all. I used to think that someone had been using the computer without me being around. Now I think it's just a quirk of the computer itself. I think I'll work on something I should have started a long time ago - BWC tech specs. -> 8:50. Decide not to work on specs, largely because I don't want to. I think I'll whip out TFTM. -> 9:22. Absolutely pouring out. I wonder if anyone else is up. I think I'll close down TFTM in a couple minutes and start NESticle again. I'm kinda bored. -> 9:49. Aja and Pam are awake. Goody. -> 10:05. EVERYONE is awake. Maybe I can feign sleep for a while. -> 10:38. Dang it, just as I reach Mission 6 I have to get ready because I somehow got roped into going to the Christmas Tree Shop. Oy. Ah, well. Shower, shave, and get going. Hopefully, it'll be brief. -> 11:59. Finished showering only to find out that Noelle and Jessy had already gone somewhere. Had some coffee and a bowl of cereal. Noelle came back, and gave me the option of staying here and getting picked up later when we head down to the train museum. I took that option. Went through the girls' room to get to mine - they aren't here, and I won't tell them. Looked at the comic books Jessy bought. Neat. /X-Men/ that she bought gave me an idea for the Ancient Wars once I start them in BWC. I'm thinking of making a little list of the Ancients in BWC, just to know. After that, work on Other Side of Reality. -> 12:30. Ancients list is finished. I think I'll play a little Stealth ATF for a little while. Other Side of Reality can wait. -> 1:21. Girls are back. Saved game in Stealth ATF - I'm on Mission 7. Going down to have lunch with everyone. -> 2:11. Had lunch. We're all going to truck down to a museum of some sort - I think it's a historical house of some sort. Was just downstairs listening to Paula Cole's "I Don't Want to Wait" on VH1, since the girls were already watching it. Then they started a little feature about Matchbox 20. Now I'm going to have "Push" in my head all day. Better get going. Don't want to be late. -> 4:28. Went to two museums, a train museum (moderately interesting) and a historical house (boring as all-get-out). Honestly, I was bored out of my skull. Noelle insists that I need a shave. I don't. Noelle is exaggerating. She has that ability. We stopped by the fish shop and bought some swordfish & shrimp for dinner. The recepie Cory plans on making sounds good. I'm going to go back to Stealth ATF. I've become addicted. It's a cool game. Maybe I'll hack it. Jetfire vs. the Seekers. Would be cool. -> 5:40. Bored universally again. I have to wait until we leave for the theatre to get ready, and until then there really isn't much to do. -> 5:51. Lay on bed for a few minutes. Jessy came in and complained that she wanted Gambit back in /X-Men/. As usual. Then Pamela came in and stared at the laptop for thirty seconds. She said her brother had a laptop. I said I had two. Jessy reminded me this one is technically everyone's. Then Pamela stuck out her tongue at me. I told her that I had killed a man to watch him die. She shut up. I played Stealth ATF for more than an hour. Now I see the screen from that game everytime I close my eyes. I think I'll leave that game alone for a little while. The girls are going swimming. Jessy agrees that I don't need a shave. Jessy wants to go swimming with the girls, but her hair wouldn't be dry in time for the play. I'm starting to regret agreeing to go to the play. But, I have a feeling those tickets are non-refundable. Darn it, seeing bogeys flying in front of my face every time I blink is getting very annoying. Now I've got a headache. I think I'll go back to the bed and lie down for a little while. -> 6:07. Got up and talked with Jessy. Then Noelle came in. We'll be eating soon. Somehow, I'm suddenly not very hungry. Noelle and Jessy snapped at each other - Jessy doesn't really want to go to the play, but Noelle paid too much money for her to back out, although Noelle didn't give her much choice. That made me still less hungry. Oh, well. It'll taste delecious, I'm sure. Ugh. That made me even LESS hungry. I'd better not mention it again or eventually I'll be puking on sight of food. -> 6:12. Worked a little on Other Side of Reality. Very little. -> 7:04. Had dinner. The girls were laughing hysterically the whole time. George was NOT pleased. Apparently, I really wasn't very hungry. I'm getting changed for the theatre now. -> 7:17. Ready for the theatre. Didn't shave - Noelle was convinced I already had. Of course, I don't plan on mentioning this until later, to prove a point. After, of course, it's a moot point. The girls seem to be listening to the X-Files Movie soundtrack - at least, they were. I think they changed it. Maybe I'll play ATF for a few minutes. -> 7:21. NESticle crashed the computer. Knew my good luck wouldn't last. Jessy is very inconsiderately giving away major points of the X-Files movie, which I asked her not to do. I think I'll head downstairs. -> 10:58. Well, we went out and saw the play - "Carousel". Pretty good, actually, all things considered. I was a little disappointed with the ending, though. And Billy's shirt. That bugged me throughout the play. Billy's shirt. It was this irritating prison-striped thing. It seemed to be made out of Spandex. Billy's shirt definitely bugged me. I'll have words with the costume designer about that. Then we came home. My key works, but the door STILL won't open for me. Thankfully, Aja opened it. Pamela was hiding in the closet. She seems to have a thing about hiding from everybody. George says that he could have paid $3,000 extra and his BMW would be bulletproof. I told him that when international terrorists have at the car with AK-47s and the bullets pass through the car, he'll know who to blame. I'm still seeing the Stealth ATF thing when I close my eyes. Seeing the play gave me all manner of ideas for stories and whatnot. Including making me rethink starting a story that I had intended to start, but didn't. I was just playing with the volume control on the computer and holding the right arrow down. Eventually, it starts beeping, so I can fade the beeps in and out. It's kinda neat. I think I'll try to start that story now. Actually, first I'll move the computer to my bed. I don't feel like writing while standing up. -> 11:09. Put my glasses in their case and took off my shoes. It turned out to be a good thing, because a minute later the girls needed to kill a cranefly and needed a shoe. They thought it was a spider. While transporting the computer over to my bed, I dropped my watch and it conveniently spun underneath the bed, so I spent a few minutes trying to get it out. Okay, going to start that story now. If I keep writing for a little while, I'll get in some pretty early Day 3 entries. -> 11:55. So tired. Tired of waiting. Tired of waiting for you. Sorry, song reference again. Worked a little on my story - it'll get worked on more tomorrow. I really am tired, so I'll keep this brief. Need to go to sleep. Got story to write. Got script to write. Got campaign to finish. Got girls to kill. Sleep will help, no doubt. See ya. Goodnight. End day two. [Totally Useless Vacation Log - Day 3] -> 8:50. Awake. I slept for nearly eight hours. Far too long. Had a really neat dream that sort of tied in to Shining Force 2. I seem to be the only one awake at the moment, but I have a feeling that that will change soon. Sierra was originally going to be coming up today, but apparently she won't be coming until Thursday now. Today is nice and sunny, which means everyone except maybe George, Jessy, and definitely me will be down at the beach in all likelihood. I am no longer seeing Stealth ATF when I close my eyes. I think I'll play that game again. I've gotten obsessed with beating it. -> 9:59. I was right about the girls going to the beach. I declined the invitation to come. I managed to get to Round 15 of Dig Dug II before losing intrest. I'll change, then I'll go downstairs to grab breakfast. Then I'm not sure exactly what I'll do. Maybe work on that story. -> 10:29. Got changed and lay on my bed for a while - I decided to wait until the girls were gone to get breakfast. I think they're gone now, so I'm going to head down. -> 11:02. Well, I was wrong - they were still here. The girls were very smugly and nastily giving away major points of the movie. Sigh. And just when I thought we were making progress. Me and Aja were having an interesting discussion about coffee - she was convinced that it tasted worse than mud. I asked her if she had ever tasted mud. Her reply was "Yes, I eat lots of mud." I gave her a look and replied "I drink coffee, you eat mud. Can you spot the crazed lunatic in this picture?" We were making progress, too, which meant that Aja and Pamela were beginning to display a maturity level towards me that rose beyond "You're icky, go away". Ah, the joys of being the only male in this generation (that's old enough to appreciate it) are myriad and never-ending. Of course, now there's only one thing to do. Get even. True, that may sound evil, nasty, petty, and scheming... but I don't give up easily. If at all. Ah, it's too early to be crying for the blood of a virgin. I think I'll move the computer to my bed and write for a little while. -> 11:08. Moved computer to my bed. I managed to avoid having my watch fall like it always does by moving it first. Then, I drew forth the notebook within which was the various sketched notes for Matt's campaign thus far - Final Fantasy X. I really think I will get an internet connection put through for this computer - I'm getting very tired of having to run to the library every time I need to check the net. I'd like to have it up and running at home. Anyhow, I'm going to transfer FFX onto this computer and do some work on it. Should be cool. I'm looking forward to unleashing it upon Matt. Heh heh heh. -> 11:53. George is heading down to the beach too now. Meaning that I'm the only one left here. Oh where, oh where has my family gone? They've left me here all alone... heh heh heh. -> 12:41. Just re-read Jessy's X-Men. Looks like Psylocke's becoming a decent character again. Good. -> 1:06. Girls are back. I should probably make my bed. Will take everything off the bed, make bed, then put it all back on the bed. -> 1:13. Apparently, only Aja is back - everyone else is still at the beach. I was offered the invitation to come again. I declined again. I'm really not much of a beach person. I wonder why Aja came back. She is a beach person. Maybe she just got bored and had something else to do back here. Or maybe she thoroughly pissed everyone off and had to come back. Or maybe it's a little of both. I don't know. I don't plan on finding out, either, because I'm not going to ask and I sort of don't care. -> 2:30. Finished sketch of Matt's campaign. That's coming very close to completion, altogether. Now I just need to add on a few more things. I think I'll keep working on that for a little while. Either that, or go re-read Jessy's /What If?/. Nope, she's back now, so scratch that. Looks like everyone's back, in fact. Except for George. -> 2:57. Did a neat little ASCII title for FFX. Going for a walk downtown now. Decided to skip lunch. Looks like Cory, George, & Noelle are going out to dinner, so me and the girls are having pizza. Neat. -> 4:24. Cory was heading out for the store, so I decided to accompany her, since Jessy said she would go downtown with me once her hair dried. We got some Dr. Pepper, which is nice, since it's been a while since I had Dr. Pepper. Then, me and Jessy went downtown. She is, apparently, in an awfully pissy mood today. Today, for once, she really isn't entitled. Me and her were talking over what character they're going to kill in /X-Men/. She thinks it's Psylocke. I hope not. Psylocke is just beginning to recover from her bout with being a loser. Besides, if Psylocke dies, we can look forward to Warren and Marrow being an item. Not a pretty picture. Jessy agrees. I think maybe it might be Storm - they said it would be someone you didn't expect. Maybe Cannonball. They did it before, after all. But he came back. Hopefully, they won't kill a) Any of the original characters, b) Psylocke, c) Storm, or d) Cannonball. Yes, I said Storm was a candidate but I don't want her to die. I was trying to look at it from a forensic point of view. Wolverine I could live with if he died. Or Joseph. Joseph now gets on my nerves. His only job seems to be to bitch at Rogue. Then Jessy found a place where they sell Beanie Babies for a ridiculously low price. She went nuts. So she came home, and now the girls are no doubt there oogling at the little ty moneymaking machines. Me, I enjoy hurling Jessy's Beanie Babies at the wall. I manage to make it funny. She laughs. That's why she lets me do it. I wound up breaking down and buying a Snickers bar and a pack of Starburst. I guess I was hungry after all. I wish I had put the FFRPG rules on this computer. I need to engineer some specifics of Matt's campaign, and I don't have the rules on-hand. I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do now. I'll mull it over for a little while. -> 5:33. Worked more on FFX. The girls couldn't find the ty money leeches that they wanted, so they're all depressed. I think I'll play Dr. Mario. -> 5:48. Got bored with FFX. The girls are having a ridiculously inane conversation. -> 6:20. The computer was heating up, so I shut it down. I've had an idea tossing around my head for an X-Men 'fic for a while, so I think I'll write it. Might as well. I had to steal Jessy's latest issue to copy the title art. -> 7:22. Had to go down to Carmine's to get a pizza to eat. Well, after an entire day of avoiding the girls with the express purpose of avoiding any nastiness that they should care to hurl at me, I get to spend an hour listening to it. Then, I'm expected to walk as precisely slow as they do even though it really doesn't matter who gets home first. Oy. The fact that I'm not exactly in the best of moods doesn't seem to register with them. I left the pizza on the counter. I'm not even hungry anymore. -> 8:42. Wound up going downstairs and eating three pieces. Did not talk to any of the girls in the process. Then I came back up and started working on that X-Men 'fic. Noelle, Cory, and George came back. Noelle asked if I had had enough to eat. I did. Matter of fact, I've pretty much had enough of the girls, too. Oh, well. Two more days, then we go home. Then I have words with a lot of people. Tomorrow, I think, will be designated as a "Work on Other Side of Reality" day. -> 9:09. The girls, Noelle, and Cory all took a walk down to the baseball field. I declined the invitation to come. At the moment, I don't particularly feel like spending much time with the girls. They just got back. I suppose it went pretty well. -> 9:47. Going outside to tell a few stories. Should be fun. -> 10:52. Well, we all went outside and talked. We told a couple ghost stories, and then some other stories, and then we got into a discussion about the scariest moment of our life. I couldn't decide between the two times I nearly drowned, the time I fell through the floor, or the time when - this is true - I was surrounded by fighter planes (or planes, at any rate). I eventually decided on a dream I had had when I was a little kid where I was being eaten by a dinosaur and I couldn't move at all, and I couldn't wake up. Then, I thought about it, and decided the absolutely most terrifying moment of my life was one where I was in absolutely no danger whatsoever. My dad had gotten really drunk, and then my uncle Eben called to say that he needed my dad to drive up and help him jump his car - the battery had died. I had to physically take my dad's keys and wallet to stop him from driving, and even then I wasn't sure I could stop him. I don't remember ever being quite so scared about anything. Anyhow, we finished talking, and I went back upstairs. It was a neat conversation. I'm going back to my X-Men 'fic. My sleep habits have gotten erratic to the extreme. -> 11:54. Nearly midnight. Nearly day four. I'm not as pissed off at the girls as I was before. I've managed to get a lot of work done on Matt's campaign and my first X-Men 'fic. I've gotten plenty of relaxation, paid off some of my debt to Jessy, and gotten pretty far on various video games. That, if you ask me, is a full day. Not going to sleep just yet - I still want to write some more. But, this is my last day three entry. Gotta be ready for tomorrow. Many things to work on. So little time. So much accomplished already. So many people turn their heads each day, so satisfied I'm on my way... sorry, I have to do that every day now. It's habit. I've got very few minutes until Day Four, so I'd better kill this entry. Goodnight. End day three. [Totally Useless Vacation Log - Day 4] -> 12:04. Just re-read the entire log. Pretty long now. -> 12:45. Okay, now I'm tired. Going to sleep. -> 9:26. Woke up. I slept too late. This sleep pattern is very bad for my health, I'm sure. At some point, I'll be going to sleep at 8:00 AM and waking up at 6:00 PM. I don't look forward to that. I will have to correct it. I'm sure that not being able to work so late once I get home will help. Going down to have breakfast. Darn it, I hate sleeping late. It screws up my entire day. -> 9:44. Had breakfast. Well, more accurately, had a cup of coffee and a cup of Dr. Pepper. Enough caffine to wake the dead. And now I've got all of it in my system. Heh. Aja was watching some MTV music video by Puff "Songs I've Stolen" Daddy, then decided to switch the channel and watch Jerry "All arguments can be settled by fistfights and bleeped curse words" Springer. Hmm. Now I have to decide what I'm going to do. I'm torn between working on "Redemption" (that X-Men 'fic), working on Other Side of Reality, working on FFX, and playing Earthbound. Hmm. Tough choice. X-Men win this time, though. I'd like to get that 'fic finished. -> 11:05. Showered, shaved, got dressed, and went back to my room. Noelle and Jessy went downtown to shop. Cory, George, and presumably Aja and Pamela are heading out for a bike ride. Which means that I'm alone again. Goody. -> 11:11. Decided to play Earthbound for a little while. -> 11:27. Got bored with Earthbound. I'll go re-read Jessy's /What If!?/ and then work on Redemption some more. -> 1:15. Darn. Been writing for longer than I thought. Going to take a walk downtown, then maybe relax outside for a while. -> 3:30. Well, apparently Noelle and Cory were going for a walk downtown too, so I decided to go along with them. Stopped off at a bookstore where I saw /Starship Titanic/ on sale for $21. However, since I paid Jessy back some of the money I owed her, I didn't have enough. Oh, well. We went to Chatham Candy Manor, where I bought a pound of Swedish Fish. I love Swedish Fish. A store on the island used to sell a pound of Fish for $3. I miss that store. Come to think of it, I miss the Time Machine, too. I got a whole bunch of ideas for Redemption - and what will follow Redemption. Going to work on Redemption, actually. Well, more accurately, I'm going to go down and have a glass of Dr. Pepper, and THEN work on Redemption. -> 3:39. Had a glass of Crystal Light - we're out of Dr. Pepper. Saving rest of Swedish Fish until later. Time for Redemption. -> 4:41. Retitled Redemption as Hard Choices, and finished it. Now starting a second 'fic - Last Man Standing. -> 5:40. Decided to stop working on Last Man Standing for a little while. Going to try something. -> 6:04. Think I'll work on FFX now. -> 7:26. Stopped working on FFX and did some more work on Last Man Standing. Then, I went down to have dinner. Grilled hamburgers and corn on the cob. Good. Nothing like it. And then, I cam back up here. I've actually gotten a lot of writing done since we came out here, which is good. Even though not much of it was on Other Side of Reality. We leave tomorrow at 12:00, so I'll make the last entry of the this log tomorrow at 4:00 (that's when we'll get home). It's been fun, even if not a whole lot happened. -> 8:27. George, Cory, and Noelle are all going out to grab something to eat, meaning I'm here all alone for the second time today. That's fine. I don't mind. Take, take me home... whoops, song reference slipped in a little early there. -> 9:10. Spent hours trying to figure out how to open out the GD CD Rom drive, now the thing opens if you look at it wrong. Oh, well, at least now we know it works. Came downstairs. Girls are watching "Working Girl", and I'm writing Last Man Standing. Fine by me. -> 11:41. Sierra's having some sort of party out at the guest house. My guess is sex and drugs - most of them illegal. Aja was out there... and from what I know, did several things that Cory would no doubt love to hear about. I'm strongly considering telling her. After all, I couldn't ask for a better shot at revenge. Then again, maybe she'll take enough rope and hang herself. Anyhow, I plan on staying up again tonight, so this is my last entry for day four... my last full day on this trip. I'm really pleased with how much I've gotten accomplished. That doesn't mean I see this trip as a complete success, though. But darn near close. When everything's made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am. I feel awfully prophetic at the moment. Then again, maybe it's just sleep deprivation. Time to get back to writing. Like I said, I just want you to know who I am. Say goodnight, boys and girls. End day four. [Totally Useless Vacation Log - Day 5] -> 12:24. Tired. Going to sleep. G'night. -> 8:28. Awake. Won't be leaving for almost four hours, so the computer doesn't go away just yet. I think I'm going to play some Earthbound for a while. -> 8:31. NESticle crashed. Wot a surprise. -> 9:12. Tired of Earthound for the moment. Going down to grab some food, then going to close up the computer for good... well, probably. -> 9:29. Packed up just about everything. The girls are listening to an unbelievably moronic and irritating song. I'll leave the computer out for a little while longer. -> 9:53. Made my bed and re-read FFX. -> 10:15. Just finished setting up the computer to play Jessy's X-Files soundtrack. Pamela just asked me if I told Cory that Aja was smoking weed. I hadn't known that part, but I didn't tell Pamela that. I told her I hadn't. Yet. -> 10:31. Listening to Jessy's X-Files soundtrack. After that, I'll pack up the computer. -> 10:44. Figured out the lyrics to "Flower Man". About to pack up computer. -> 10:47. Packing up computer. WIll somehow manage to amuse myself for the next five hours or so. -> 7:45. Got home, set up shop, and got back into the swing of things. Read part two of Psy-War and was upset. They zorched Psylocke's telepathy, the bastards. Ah, well. Need to re-read the Trial of Gambit. Car trip home was much the same as the trip to the Cape. I am burnt out. I want to rest. I want to write. I just want to fly. Last song reference. It's all over, folks. Go home to your families. They've been missing you. See ya. End day 5. End vacation. GO HOME, dammit! Jeez, don't you people live somewhere?
