Here is a cheap way to make a different type of Saber.

...You want 3 things....one 48" flourscenant tube, one roll of clear packing tape and one roll of black electrical tape. Using the clear tape wrap the tube from one end to the other several times. go slowly and a gentle overap, being careful to avoid air bubbles. then at one end wrap about 1/4 of your saber with electrical tape for the handle. Not very impressive in the daylight. but ok from a distance as seen in photo...but the real beauty of this saber is that it lights up when you get near HIGH TENSION LINES!!!! Transfer stations also work ok...some work better than others. if you can get a Tesla Coil that will also light up your saber....you can actually do monk battles and where the two saber meet the clow is more intense...how ever be sure that you only simulate battle with slow motions...as the tubes are fraigle and don't take much to break....which the tape will help prevent them from flying appart in your hands. For what it's worth...the one in the photo I was able to use for over 3 years before I disassembled and used in a shop lamp. the tape will cut down on the glow factor...but makes it safer to handle...which I feel is more important. have fun
