n the vast future world of the Judges, it may prove hard to accept the evidence of your eyes. Skyscrapers disappear up into infinity. Endless tiers of freeways arch and sweep without apparent support. In the suburd once known as New York, the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty still stand, but dwarfed like toys in some antique miniature playroom.
This gigantic city sprawls far inward and encompasses all the old cities of the Eastern Seaboard. The name of this awesomely-proportioned megapolis is well chosen:MEGA-CITY ONE. In this city that is home to a staggering 800 millionpopulation, each a potential criminal, the keepers of the law must be uncommonly tough. They are named JUDGES.
Rigorously trained for a period of 15 years, they fill the role of judge, jury and where necessary executioner! They must prove themselves able to uphold the law without bias or fear before receiving the eagle badge of full office. Equally subject to the stringent law they serve, any judge committing a felony receives a mandatory 20 year sentence on Jupiter's remote moon of Titan. With their formidable arsenal of weapons, including the Lawmaster motorbikes and Lawgiver handguns, the Judge's grim presence deters most would-be lawbreakers. But there is a model Judge. One whose very name is guaranteed to chill the hearts of even the most hardened criminals....
