Feel
the Love...
I kid you not. I tell no lie.
The following fan fiction authors are SO damned cool, I'm recommending
them to you. I'm not talking 'Oh it's readable and the
characters are recognizable' cool. I'm talking 'Dear God I
can't move from the computer chair - No Marie, don't do it!! Logan
are you MAD?! Oh God where are the TISSUES?' cool.
Please understand, I don't recommend just
anybody. These people are very very good. They
rock my world, and make me proud.
Authors
I Adore: (In no particular order)
Melissa
Flores (Mistiec):
If there is a Queen of High Drama in the
world, it's Mistiec. Cause she is very very damned good. Her
stories grab you by the gonads and glue you to the screen, and you won't
be able to put her stories down until they're done. And there's
usually a sequel to be had, so one look and you're fucked.
Er - addicted. Such a great way to be, really :) Conflict
is her specialty, and it's always an emotional roller-coaster till it's
resolved.
Donna
Bevan:
She wrote this series that puts a total
spin on Rogue's power and also brings in the theories of evolution to have
a bit of a romp around, as well as throwing in a good bucket of sexual
tension. Logan and sexual tension - hot damn!! She has other
fics (apart from the Adaptation series) that are also really excellent.
She has a complete handle on Rogue's character, and she does Jubilee a
dream (Jubilee is one of my favourite characters - can you tell?).
Diebin:
Diebin has written one of the sweetest,
most heart-wrenching series I've read of Logan and Rogue. It's called
the Compass Points series, and it has two sections, Compass Points and
Love Letters - go see her site, it is clearer there. Pretty
much it's Logan, travelling, sending letters to Rogue, and being incredibly
adorable about it. Not only that, she's spat out some
really great stand-alones that put you in tears. If you're
a glutton for sheer angst like me, that's pure bliss. The coolest
thing about her angsty tendencies is that the tragic stories that ensue
spur me on to write foof (fluff) and fun, and she enjoys it as much as
I enjoy her angst. It's a never ending spiral of love and agony.
Oh, she can do foof as well, by the way.
Shana
Nolan (Aericura):
Well, I have four words for you - Perfect
Ring of Scars. This story just - oh it astounds.
It's thick, lush, agonizing angst, and it'll rip your insides out and plop
them on your head like a pretty hat, then stick them back in your carcass
again. I've also had the pleasure of previewing another
of Shana's stories, she has a real rich style, like a nice big vat of silly-putty.
It's amazing stuff!
Gowdie:
This talented miss has so far released
three parts to her story "Reasonable Doubts", and damn - I'm dying for
the rest. It's the perfect mix of angst and foof, and she writes
a Logan so endearing and playful that you just want to grab him and wrestle
in the grass with him (amongst other things). He's understandibly
flawed, typicly male, and her sweet infectious Rogue will have you howling
for more (kinda like the rest of WolverineAndRogue@egroups.com).
Seriously though - she's great.
