Douglas Adams
1952 - 2001

Douglas Adams was, in my opinion, one of the greatest writers of our time.  Combining his vast talents in writing, and his wonderfully british sense of humor, he created some of the most loved novels ever.

He sparked my interest in british humor after I read his most famous novel, The Hitchhikers Guide To the Galaxy.  I have since then read nearly all his other books, all of which were just as wonderful.  He created amazingly imaginitive worlds that could not only make you laugh hysterically, but think at the same time.

I admired not only his abilities as a writer, but his efforts to protect endangered wildlife as well.  In an attempt to broaden peoples awareness of the danger much of the animal kingdom is in, he wrote Last Chance to See.  A non-fiction novel detailing his travels around the world in search of endangered species.

Adams entertained, educated, and inspired many people, myself included, and he will be greatly missed.
