This makes them eligible to collect the contents of the tin if they score a hole in one on that particular day. Postie will record this next to your name on his tally sheet.

If a Hole in One is not achieved that day the money will remain in the tin and thus jackpot the following month. You must pay the $2 on the given day to be able to collect the contents of the tin on that day.

The idea is for the loot to build up in the tin so that when the inevitable hole in one occurs, a substantial reward is available. As well as this it will add general interest to the day and perhaps encourage a few more visitors.
