WELCOME TO CHRIS MOONEY’S VICE-PRESIDENT’S DAY;

the Grand Final of the Lindenberg; Father and Son Day and The Lizards 720th monthly match, being the last golfing fixture in The Club’s 60th Year,

CHRIS MOONEY burst upon the Lizards as a visitor with 51 points off 36 in Jan 1992.  He joined the club in March and was voted in as Captain/Handicapper in July ’93.  Chris was unopposed for the Presidency in ’94.  In ’97 he saw a brass ring at the AGM, grabbed it, and has been victualler ever since.

In August 2000 he brought the Lizards into the new millennium by setting up the official club website.  In May ’04 he started publishing the FOL and took it from handwritten to clear type, then added a spot of colour and photos of the players.  Looks like this club asset will be joining the slim line of recycled Presidents in the near future.

PRESIDENT’S DAY, with 19 Lizards and 2 visitors, produced the following results:

1st LIZARDS                                     Chris Mooney - 41 points off 11 handicap

CHRIS MOONEY won the day for the second time in three months – he is on a

winning curve – fortunately for us it’s on the down.

HART, rapt in his quest to make it to the Lindenberg final, earned himself a trip to the pay window – his first in 22 months.  Congratulations!

VISITOR Bruce Staples made it back into black and ink for the first time since his Bradman downer 23 months ago.

BRIAN ELLIS’ Bradman result was on a count-back from Noel Quinlan, Michael Morgan and Ian Massey!

Results of the Semi Finals of the Lindenberg

Hartmut Schwarz       d       Noel Quinlan                       4 and 3

Michael Morgan        d       Wal Hill                                on the 19th

Leave out Noel Quinlan and the draw and results of the 2005 and 2006 semi finals were pre-zactly the same!

THE LINDENBERG is the most arduous of the Lizards Annual Trophies and we commend these two stalwarts and wish them the best of luck in today’s final.

Mike Dodd                            Credit Fine: did collect the salad from Harbord, the hot dogs from
