WELCOME
TO GORDON “POSTIE” DONALD LM MEMORIAL DAY
Following the sad demise of our esteemed treasurer and mentor, POSTIE, the club received a call from Mark Macmillan, Lizards 40th President, offering to provide a perpetual POSTIE MEMORIAL TROPHY “to be awarded to the clubman of the year and presented at the AGM each year. The recipient to be chosen by the committee.”
Sounds like a desirable perpetual trophy at the other end of the spectrum to the Paddle.
Mark is our sponsor today and provided the normal prizes for Lizards and Visitors. There is a chance he might visit us during the day.
DAVE

Visitors
PRESIDENT Colin Lacey
opened the meeting without the LIZARD
– went back to his car to secure it, then lost it before he could give
it a
drink.
CHRIS MOONEY, usually
in the select bunch making the
last stampede to the tape, has swallowed a lot of dust but never made
it to the
pay window in the last 17 months.
Congratulations on your win in a knife edge countback.
DAVID GILCHRIST has
not stood on the podium and heard
his anthem for 33 months – at least he made it to the platform, even if
they
were playing someone else’s tune. He was
only a splitz wick away from stardom.
INTERESTING to see
Hart Schwarz and Noel Quinlan
finished 3rd and 4th with 40 and 39 points. Congratulations on your efforts – it’s hard
to push through that thin layer of ice at the top.
MICHAEL HARRISON had a
windfall – due to the absence of
visitors was awarded a prize for best scratch.
He also won the raffle, nearest the pin but Neil Winterton beat
him to
the fairway on the long drive 2nd.
BILL SHEEHAN LM
catered for the day – but due to the
moon being in the St Patrick’s Day quarter, and his daughter Kathryn
being born
on the fateful day, was unable to attend as he was overseeing a two day
clan
bash of rels in his backyard.
WAL HILL and IVAN
TILTINS did an excellent job of
cooking the steaks and presenting the condiments and salads.
