WELCOME TO CASTLE HILL PLATE DAY Mk VII.
GLENN and WAL, our dedicated donor duo, are the first on the scene to assist when the club hits a rough patch and needs a fix – we thank them for their capabilities.
LIZARD HISTORY was made on Castle Hill Plate Day, when Michael Harrison carded 45 points off 5 handicap – a round of 3 under the card!
LE MON - DELLA DAY, with 20 Lizards and 2 visitors, produced the following results:
1st LIZARDS Jim Small - 40 points off 16 handicap
2nd LIZARDS Wal Hill - 38 points on count-back off 38 handicap
3rd LIZARDS Tony Della - 36 points on count-back off 17 handicap
4th LIZARDS Mike Dodd - 36 points on count-back off 27 handicap

JIM SMALL, during the meeting, had to
vacate the comfort of his upholstered golf cart, for the first time since
December ’03, to accept 1st prize for the day. Congratulations
Jim.
WAL HILL enjoyed his first trip to the pay window since January ’04.
DONOR Tony Della won his own 3rd prize and donated the proceeds to the Lizards raffle.
Mike Dodd took a firm hold of the neck of his first members trophy.
GRANT SCHWARZ won the Warner Day Visitor Trophy the previous month, with 37 points, and repeated the performance with a gentlemanly score in the mid 30’s.
GARRY BIRD LM, with a hole-in-one to his credit in February ’03, was keen
to crack it for the 1st Jackpot. He has had 4 nearest the pins
in the past couple of months – two on the day Michael Harrison slam dunked
the 14th and caused the introduction of the 2nd Hole-in-one
Jackpot.
MICHAEL MORGAN suffering a one shot reduction, as a result of his 5 under his handicap victory last month, staggered back to the Shed with a Bradman flavoured 24 points – possibly aimed at softening the handicapper’s heart.
THE PUTTING PUNDITS produced these imperfect performances: Hart putted off the 6th green; The Chief Dobber LM struck a well read putt on the 14th and finished off with an aerie and two more putts; and Brian Ellis 4 putted from 4 feet on the 18th.
MICHAEL HARRISON had a good day – he netted the Best Scratch, nearest the pin and 1st in the raffle.
GARY CASTLE had a better day – he scooped the Best front nine, nearest-the-pin and Long drive.
DELLA DAY was another memorable competition, with Tony providing the 21 prizes – half a dozen bottles and golf balls for the rest. A player beside me, at the meeting, ended up with a bottle and a lap full of Nike balls. Hats off to Tony.
