WELCOME TO WARNER DAY Mk XVII.  Andrew usually ushers in the Spring, with his donorship, in September – this year he is swapping dates with Tony Della.  Tony is holidaying in Italy and unable to be our host today.  Our ever ready Andrew is also “stand-in” caterer and, to round off our enjoyment, will include the CUSTARD BALL on the menu.  If you have never heard of this innovation don’t worry – till one of your group explains its implication.

After 13 uneventful holes and under the watchful gaze of the new Captain-Handicapper, Michael Harrison ACED the 100m uphill 14th hole and broke the seal on the $2 jackpot – a gusher of 3.9kg of bullion.  Michael is the first low marker in Lizard history to bag a hole-in-one.  Congratulations on your stroke of luck!

BRIAN ELLIS, winner of the Father and Son Trophy ‘04 and ‘05 and now celebrating his first monthly competition win – well played Brian.

GARRY BIRD LM, back on the winner’s dais for the first time in 12 months, was doing his best in the quest for the pot at the end of the rainbow – with nearest the pins on the 1st and 9th.  He was high on the list of prospective hole-in-one winners.

GERRY MANDERSON had a 24 point walkover to take the visitor’s 1st and enjoy a Bradman downer.  In January Gerry shot a 49 pointer and beat the field by 16.  Last month, playing off a reduced handicap, he beat the field by 24.  We enjoy your visits – try to join us more often.

PORT MACQUARIE is approaching apace – if the “target dates” of 4-5 Nov have been confirmed, secure your accommodation ASAP.  The Port is a holiday resort and November falls in the best weather bracket!
