April 2005
WELCOME TO LIFE MEMBER GORDON DONLAD’S “POSTIE DAY”.
Gordon was inducted into the Lizard ranks during Bill Sheehan’s Presidency, when green fees were 6 shillings – the occurrence was recorded in the second edition of Flat Out Like. Within 2 months he had his name on the books as an annual donor. He took to the Lizards lifestyle like a fish to chips – and has been Captain/Handicapper, Club Champion, President and for most of his working Lizard life Secretary-Treasurer and Treasurer. His fervour has never waned. Well played China, we wish you well.

COL LACEY had his second trip to the pay window for the runners up prize this year.
VISITOR Neil Saunders made it into the Lizard archives with a healthy 41 pointer.
ROY DONALD picked up his second visitors prize in 5 months.
THE FIRST ROUND OF THE LINDENBERG KNOCK-OUT COMPETITION produced the following results:

Colin Lacey d Chris Mooney 1 up
Michael Morgan d Gary Castle on the 21st
Garry Bird LM d Bob Paine No show

Wal Hill d Michael Moran 7 and 5
If anyone with a crystal ball had predicted Michael Harrison, Jim Small and Chris Mooney would be eliminated in round 1, their crystal ball would have been confiscated, melted down, and made into permanent ice cubes. Let’s see what happens in round 2.
TEN out of TEN to Col Lacey for taking on the onerous ask of Captain/Handicapper, in the absence of Manfred and Neil Winterton, who were both on the unfit for service list.
PRESIDENT GARRY BIRD stood in for the Chief Dobber in the absence of Andy Warner,
GARY CASTLE’S catering debut was a raging success. We should be looking to his manager to arrange another gig in the winter season this year.
THE CASTLES certainly came to the fore last month. Gary with the cuisine, Glenn with the drinks and ice and Dennis with the winning card complete with nearest the pin and long drive. Well done fellers.
