CUSTARD BALL WINNING TEAM
Chris Mooney, John O’Meara,
Colin Lacey and Michael Morgan with 41 points
THE CUSTARD BALL EVENT caused the usual dyspeptic flutters among the players – with only one team brave enough to hit the ball far enough to lose it. Ian Massey lost his team’s ball on the way to the first tee – but managed to obtain a replacement. The winning team - Chris Mooney, John O’Meara, Colin Lacey and Michael Morgan – scored 41 points, 4 shots ahead of the Small/Warner group.
CHRIS MOONEY. Victualler, custodian of the Lizards web site and publisher of the F.O.L., took time out to put his game together, for the first time in 2 years, and took out the Warner Day trophy 3 shots ahead of the donor and had a further success in the Custard Ball Event. While back in the swing he could collect a couple more trophies before the summer’s out.
HART was the beneficiary when the Life Member donor decided on prizes for the first 3 past the post.
LONE VISITOR Roy Donald had a colourful day – winning his event, the long drive and amassing the possible highest Bradman score in Lizard history.
FINES, some were:
Roy Donald trying to pay his “hole-in-one” competition
with $1.00. He was told
promptly it was $2.00 to enter – replying “when did it go up?”
All Lizards disregarding the traditional wearing
of shorts in the first match of spring
The 4 Castles the irretrievable loss of the team’s custard
ball
Matthew Castle employing a ladies folding umbrella in a futile
attempt to repel the
inclement weather from his manly frame
Jim Small parking his cart next to a deep puddle
near the 12th, causing the
unsuspecting dobber to alight into a casual wading pool
Hart stating “I had 15 on the
front and 19 on the back – I am quite happy with
35 for the round”
The ‘HOLE-IN-ONE’
JACKPOT is over the $500.00 mark and well worth a $2 investment. Make sure Postie records your payment.
There were 2 holes-in-one last year and we are due for another before
Christmas.
