HART racked up his first
victory at Avalon for 38 months. Congratulations, the
White Heather trophy was destined to celebrate such a feat.
ANDREW WARNER LM, fresh from
hospital, lost no time bouncing back to the pay window.
BOB PAINE, on a day devoid
of high scores, secured the 2 man visitor’s match with a sedate 33 pointer.
BRUCE STAPLES, a brand new
visitor, inherited 2nd place and the Bradman downer.
PHILIP BRANDON, having burst
upon the scene with a hat-trick of first prizes, has remained in the headlines
by attending his first AGM as a new chum and returning home as Lizards Vice-President
– then, when becoming aware of the scarcity of Lizards caterers, volunteered
his caterbilities for Epps-Meredith day. THE FOOD,
obviously destined for
LAST MONTH there was a mention
in the FOL of our unusually good fortune in having a professional golfer coming
to Avalon to participate in our social approach to the game. However, since then, there has been a bit of a change. NO – he hasn’t moved of to a more picturesque layout, with
lakes and stone bridges – he has JOINED the flamin’ Lizards!
BOB PAINE’S application,
on butcher’s paper, for membership was processed after the raffle last month. He was welcomed into the Lizards ranks and issued with
the usual hardware. We wish him a long and fruitful
association with the club.
SPECIAL THANKS to Chris Mooney
who has published FOL for the past four months – much easier to read in black
and ink than the thumbnail dipped in tar models.
PRESIDENT Garry Bird LM did
a good job on the fines list in the absence of our genial Chief Dobber when
he found himself in hospital.
MANFRED WAGNER, Captain Handicapper,
should be happy the July results – not a hare out of place.
