FLAT OUT LIKE

October 2003

WELCOME to CASTLE HILL PLATE DAY MkV. The day, over the years, is when abnormally high scores seem to be the norm.  in 2000, Michael Harrison fired a round 3 under the card and won the day with 45 points off 6 handicap - the best round by a Lizard since founder Leon List fired the starters gun on Day 1 in 1946.

TODAY President Glenn CAstle is Donor, Caterer and Baggage Man - having brought the prizes, food, drinks and ice, he will arrive early enough to set up the furniture in The Shed and, at the conclusion of play, conduct the meeting.  What a devilishly clever possum - what would we do without him; or better still - what are we going to do in the future to ensure this unLizard like situation does not recur.

WARNER DAY, with 20 members and 4 visitors, produced the following results:

LIZARDS 1st Manfred Wagner 43 points off 21 handicap
LIZARDS 2nd Hartmut Schwarz 42 points off 31 handicap

VISITORS 1st Michael Moran 36 points off 21 handicap

MICHAEL MORAN'S application for membership found it's way into the President's grasp and, with due process, was approved.  Michael was welcomed and issued with the usual Lizard hardware.  Congratulations Michael, we wish you a long and fruitful association with The Lizards.

CAPT/HANDICAPPER Manfred Wagner, second the previous month, stayed on the roll and, playing off his lowest handicap to date, posted his first win since May 02.  Well played Manfred.

HART SCHWARZ fronted up to the place window for the first time since Oct 01.

MICHAEL MORAN made the most of his last day as a visitor breaking the tape with a neat 36 pointer - one shot ahead of Jake Small.
