FLAT OUT LIKE

May 2003

WELCOME to NEIL WINTERTON'S PRESIDENT'S DAY - the day heralds the beginning of the end of another enjoyable year - with the president himself choreographing a good slab of the proceedings.  A Lizard year includes a dozen Donor driven monthly events, as well as an array of 13 or more competitions for the perennial spit, polish and engraved trophies, some entailing travel to Port Macquarie, Jamberoo, Calderwood, Mangrove Mountain and where ever.  At this late stage there are still 5 annual trophies up for grabs and the AGM is taking shape on the drawing board.

The AGM is set down for Tue. 1 July at the DY RSL - more details as they come to light.

POSTIE DAY, with 15 members and 2 visitors, produced the following results:

LIZARDS 1st Jim Small 44 points off 16 handicap
LIZARDS 2nd Michael Harrison 42 points off 7 handicap

VISITORS 1st Ian Massey 39 points off 20 handicap

JIM SMALL, one of the top 4 for attendance and keenness on the field, bagged his 3rd win in exactly 4 years! - so don't be too dejected if you have not scooped the pool in the past 12 months.

MICHAEL HARRISON (7), who was not tipped to beat Garry Bird LM (22) as he would have to par the course to have a chance, fired a round of 1 over the card while Garry finished 2 over his handicap, which left too much space for Michael to score on the right holes in the Lindenberg.  Well played Michael.

JOHN SURPLICE (10) was pleased with his 35 points and visitors prize, however, with only 2 visitors competing, John had to don the Bradmans hat for the rest of the day.

FINES, some were:

John Surplice &        spending the morning telling each other about their holes in one
Garry Bird

Michael Harrison &  inviting a visitor and making him drive them to Lizards
