WELCOME to MORGAN - MOONEY DAY MkIV. The Emanems are on deck again doing their donor thing - Michael bestowing the prizes and Chris providing the downers.  Chris, apart from being victualler, is Lizards world wide web weaver and has kept the site up to date for the past 2 1/2 years.  Hats off to the donors.

DAWSON CARROLL made a three point landing at Mascot 3 weeks ago and is set for a practice round today, prior to his December trophy day.  His wrist watch is undergoing dial to dial resuscitation, following its recent climactic change from gelid to close to boiling.

TONY DELLA is in the last throes of moving house - he will have settled on a few acres in Moss Vale by mid-December!  He joined the Lizards in Sep '85, when the prizes were for 1st and 2nd and 2 nearest the pins.  On his donors days, over the years, he introduced Long Drives, Best Front and Back nines and, on occasions, Nearest the Pins on all par 3s.  He started with a handicap of 13 and won a prize last month off the same figure.

Tony has been president of the Manly Warringah Taxi Golf Club for the past few years and was Club Captain for the preceding 29 years.  We will miss him sadly - but the Taxi Golf Club will go into extreme damage control.

We wish Tony and Anna good health and a very happy change of environment - and hope to see Tony at the Jamberoo/Calderwood matches.

CASTLE HILL PLATE DAY, with 22 members and 5 visitors, produced the following results:

LIZARDS 1st Neil Winterton 42 points off 18 handicap

Congratulations to The President for notching up his first win.

FOR A PIPE OPENER, new visitor, Mark Ottoway blew the opposition through the S bend with a 43 pointer.

CADET JAKE, with 3 shots up his sleeve on each of the par 4 downhill 252m 7th and 16th, parred both holes.

ATTILA, with a onomatopoeic name that rings like a 105 Howitzer, was the only 19+ handicapper to win a nearest the pin in the "open" event.  Good shot Attila.

FINES, some were:

Tony Della                  writing his name on a nearest the pin marker and walking off with a wipe

Manfred                      by quoting a myriad of Lizards rules did remove his ball from a pine forest
and placed it in the middle of the fairway, without penalty

Hart                            displaying his versatility by providing ham for the lunch

Chief Dobber              forgetting to bring sox and raising 18 holes worth of blisters

Manfred                     providing a defunct biro for the Chief Dobber to steal

NEXT MONTH is CHRISTMAS CARROLL DAY - the Dawson Carroll Cup will be up for grabs and it's the day to bring a gift - receive a gift.

Good Golfing……….Bill Epps,  Editor
