WELCOME to VICE-PRESIDENT'S DAY; THE GRAND FINALE of  The LINDENBERG; FATHER and SON DAY and the last chance to score some vital points in the CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP.

V.P. Neil Winterton, the only new face on the committee these past 12 months, is doing a sterling job - doing all the spade work, as well as applying the finishing touches to the recent away from home trips, is an example of his keen desire to keep life easy for us Lizards.

CAPTAIN-HANDICAPPER'S DAY, with 18 members and 3 visitors, produced the following results:

LIZARDS 1st Manfred Wagner 42 points off 23 handicap
LIZARDS 2nd Dennis Castle 40 points off 20 handicap

VISITORS 2nd Phil Peddar 32 points off 20 handicap

RAFFLE  #9  Michael Harrison

MANFRED, our hard working Captain/Handicapper, won the day! - everyone should get a free downer.  Last time he broke the tape was September 2000.  His most remarkable victory was May 1999, when he beat Michael Harrison by 2 points.  Manfred's score was 35 points - the lowest winning result in living memory.

DENNIS CASTLE notched up his second 2nd place since joining in April 01.

PETER McKINN, on his first appearance in April, scooped the visitor's trophy with 43 points.  Suffering a reduction of 5 shots he returned last month - and scooped the visitors trophy with 43 points!  Congratulations Peter - if you can come up with another 43 today, your downer will be served in an embossed Lizards glass - and you can keep the glass.

LINDENBERG Semi Finals results:

Neil Winterton       def   Jim Small   4 and 3
Michael Harrison   def   Chris Mooney   1 up

The Harrison/Mooney encounter was a cliff hanger.

Chris won the first hole and Michael squared the match by winning the second.  This pattern of play persisted and, by the time they teed up on the 18th, Chris had been 1 up 8 times, Michael had never been in front, the match was square and the elusive pin was at the back of the green.

Michael's tee shot lobbed on the green 28 ft short of the hole.  Chris followed suit - his long putt lipped the cup and rolled 3 ft by.  Michael thumped his ball to within 18 inches and knocked it in.  Chris missed his 3 footer.  What a match!

Congratulations to all four of the semi-finalists.

ALL EYES will be on today's Grand Final of the Lindenberg.  David Leadbetter and Butch Harmon agree that Michael Harrison would be a good place bet.

JIM SMALL is not making his presence felt in the shed this morning - if all went according to plan, he entered the Mater Hospital on Wednesday for reconstruction surgery to both knees - a major commitment.  By next weekend he should be on his way to a hospital closer to the family residence for a couple of weeks, then home for a beer and a lengthy period of rehabilitation.  We wish him well - and hope he doesn't forget about the Blue Chair.

THE FATHER and SON ANNUAL TROPHY is up for grabs.  Likely contenders could come from any of these stables - Della, Mooney, O'Meara, Schwarz and the four Castles.  Should a grandfather bring his sons, step-sons and their sons and then throws in his sons-in-law, he is deemed to be playing conjointly with any one of them.  A boxed bet on the Castles could win big bikkies.

CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS prior to hit off today stand at:
