FLAT OUT LIKE

August 2001

WELCOME to WARNER DAY MkXIII. Life member Andrew moved his donor's day forward to fill in for Tony Della who is "out of town" today.  Tony will be handing out his multitude of prizes next month.  Andy, inventor of the "Custard Ball" game, is likely to include the unnerving event with our normal stableford round.

EPPS-MEREDITH DAY, with 16 members and 1 visitor, produced the following results:

LIZARDS 1st John O'Meara 39 points off 19 handicap
LIZARDS 2nd Neil Winterton 37 points off 17 handicap

VISITORS 1st Jake Small 36 points off 46 handicap

MEMBERS
BEST FRONT NINE Noel Quinlan 22 points off 22 handicap

Visitors Jake Small 22 points off 45 handicap

A PRESIDENTIAL feeding frenzy saw Pres. John O'Meara and Vice Pres. Neil Winterton make short work of the donor's trophies, as well as 75% of the nearest the pins.  Congratulations - it could be an entertaining 12 months with these two live wires at the helm.

NOEL QUINLAN carded a faultless round, including the best front nine and longest drive.  Noel was beaten on a countback for second place - losing a shot for his effort.

JAKE SMALL notched up his 3rd visitor's trophy in 5 months.  Jake has pared 10 shots off his handicap since March and is keen to whittle a stroke or two off each time he is issued with a card.

CAPTAIN-HANDICAPPER MANFRED would have been pleased with the overall results - the first 10 members past the post had the average score of 35.3 points.

THE PORT MACQUARIE SAFARI, in quest of the Nifty Plate on 3-4 November, is in readiness with a possible 18 contenders straining at the leash.  The penultimate briefing will be given at today's meeting.

NEXT MONTH is DELLA DAY with all the normal prizes plus nearest the pins on all par 3's.
