WELCOME to DAVID GILCHRIST’S PRESIDENTS DAY; a Special Day for Visitors and the Semi Finals of the Lindenberg Competition.
PRESIDENTS DAY, the traditional penultimate fixture on the menu, heralds the approaching close of the Lizards year. David has enjoyed a dream run compared with his 1988-89 chairmanship - a period when social clubs, well known businesses and small countries were going belly up in sympathy with the pervading economic client. With David and V.P. Andy Warner leaning back on the joystick, they pulled out of a dive, just missing the bottom of the bucket, and the Lizards have been on the ascent ever since.
DAVID, a keen advocate of increasing visitor attendance, is currently putting the finishing touches on arrangements for the AGM and looking forward to rounding off his second term in the chair by awarding the paddle and bestowing the Lizard into the keeping of the club’s 56th President.
THE SPECIAL VISITORS DAY, at the behest of the President, will see 17 prizes
exclusively for visitors
- they will be for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, best front and back nines, nearest the
pins on all par 3s, long drive on the 7th and Bradman. Good Luck Visitors
- its not every day you see more prizes than contestants.

GEOFF WARREN, back after a spell - having been spellbound since his previous win in Dec 91, was rewarded for his feat with a bottle of Chivas Regal.
ALAN LEWIS, President in 1981, drops in for the occasional game and, having been beaten on a countback, his win in May 90 still stands as his most recent success.
COURTNEY KINGSTON demolished his fellow visitors by firing a round seven shots under his handicap.
DENNIS CASTLE, runner up on the day and 3 times winner since the middle of last year, had his two page rhyming request for membership approved by the President and members. Congratulations Dennis, we wish you a long and fruitful association with the Lizards. Good luck next month in the annual Father and Son Day.
GLEN CASTLE, always available in times of need, has taken over the custody and transport of the 90 litre esky. This saves the back seat of Jim Smalls new limmo being permeated by the wet and muddy coffin like container and overcomes the problem of evacuating the vital piece of equipment from Ourimbah, should an emergency occur. Good on ya Stretch - and a special thanks to Jim Small for his immediate response when Plant Engineer Bill Sheehan succumbed to illness in February.
