FLAT OUT LIKE

April 2001

WELCOME to SHACKLE DAY and the Quarter Finals of the LINDENBERG.  Neil had won 4 dozen Lizard glasses as our longest running visitor, before joining the club in November 88.  These days he seems to be a test pilot for high flying metal woods, having mastered a bubble shaft Titleist recently, he is currently in the throes of taming the latest long shafted, light headed, sexy looking Callaway weapon.  He has established that a robust contact, on the enlarged sweet spot, blasts the ball out of sight - permanently - and is proving to be an expensive experiment.  Neil is working on the problem.

We thanks him for his donorship.

DAVID RAYNER MEMORIAL DAY, with 19 members and 4 visitors produced the following results:

JAKE SMALL, Bradman in January, bagged his second win in two months - and lost 14 shots in the process!  Congratulations Jake, you have burst through the beginners barrier and are on your way as a golfer.

FINES, some were:
Wal Hill                                           Stating: "I had 18 points today - 8 on the front and 8 on the back".

Chris Mooney                                 Having beaten Michael Harrison in the Lindenberg, was heard to say "This proves that cream rises to the top".

Michael Morgan                              Interminable delay in playing his ball, allegedly to unnerve his Lindenberg opponent.

Tony Della                                      Not knowing that Michael was innocent of the charge - he always plays that way.
