font color="#ffffff">Lost in Space: The Movie, very loosely based on the 60's hit TV series,
debuted in theatres nationwide, Spring '98, 30 years after the series ended.
Returning were all of the original principal characters as portrayed
by modern stars (including William Hurt, Gary Oldman, Lacey Chabert,
Mimi Rogers, Matt Leblanc, & Heather Graham) plus several of the original
cast members in cameo roles (TV's Maureen, Don, Judy, & Penny).
The flying egg is our new Jupiter 2. Our beloved saucer is detroyed.
The movie was written by Akiva Goldsman (Batman Forever,
Batman & Robin, A Time to Kill) and is Directed by Stephen Hopkins
(Predator2, The Ghost and the Darkness, Blown Away). They did it.
With a reported budget of about $75million, about 750 separate
special effects shots (350 more than Independence Day & twice as many
as Jurassic Park), a cast of our favorite stars, and some awesome
cinematography and special effects, Lost in Space: The Movie
even sank Titanic to become a blockbuster motion picture despite itself!
